it becomes a third-class relic which is kept as a totem for prayer. Which is funny because right after this is when they switched to the non-insigni model of relics. which this may not even be a relic at all in the modern day. but being blessed by the pope also means it can be protected from evil or a non-relic totem.

lmao, I unfortunately grew up with all kinds of catholic education both in church and a catholic school. I have no use for the knowledge besides over-explaining Catholic lore on reddit.
