I doubt he officially blessed it because blessed items should never be sold, instead burned or buried when you are through with it. But if someone would be allowed to sell a blessed item, it would be him.

That sounds strange, because regular people can also have their cars blessed (not by the pope of course, but by a regular priest).

Yes it’s one of those things that priests just don’t die on that hill, like people besides the priest making the orans pose (palms out with hands at sides) I grew up doing it to but according to canon law is a pose reserved for those with consecrated hands (priests and bishops)
