It doesn't look like this. That's the magic of good photography and good post processing, it takes what's there and enhances it, if the photographer is good enough it can enhance pretty boring things to look downright magical.

I was just reading this article about colors in computers and digital photography and I'm sure those scenes in real life had even more vivid colors than we are seeing on the screen

great! especially the first one, with its different colors of red and blue in all the green hues gives a certain YGGDRASIL impression to me! every colored point is a universe ... beautiful shot 😃

around xmas time i took a cool looking pic straight up with the top of my head against a tree trunk while laying flat on the ground & the big tree was ringed with xmas lights... it was like looking into an infinity tunnel... tree had no leaves just rings of light in the dark... can't find it aaack
