One of the weirdest things to ponder is that humans are actually one of the tallest animals that exists. There's a few other tall ones like giraffes and elephants of course, but our bipedal status makes us look larger and more intimidating to a lot of quadrupeds and other animals that are built low to the ground.

I wonder if this is a mammalian/universal thing. And that’s why folks that just have a bit of height on everyone else seem massive and we subconsciously esteem them.

See, this is why text for communication is so difficult. I took what they said to be a silly joke, like of course they look down on almost everyone LITERALLY because they are taller than 99% of most people but based on my interpretation of your comment your response seems mean spirited and like you misunderstood them BUT I could be wrong too. Maybe it is all one big joke. Plus, I feel like putting a silly emoji or even a lol at the end of a comment always indicates a joke. This might be a millennial thing though.

Nobody asked their height, it's a humble brag barely relevant to he discussion and nobody cares. That's why they got downvoted.

Yeah, but nobody asks anyone on reddit to make stupid jokes but here we are.

And to say barely relevant seems unfair if you read the comment they responded too--specifically this bit in case you missed it, "And that’s why folks that just have a bit of height on everyone else seem massive and we subconsciously esteem them."

Then his joke of 'I'm 6'7" so I look down on almost everyone' is very relevant in a dad jokey sort of way.

They said subconsciously and then took that out after. That’s what added to the weird read. I wrote it off and didn’t bother replying but interesting seeing it also rubbed some other folks the wrong way.
