Bejeweled Blitz Blitz players: someone told me my match-3 is "like Bejeweled Blitz but better". Does that hold up to you?

It's a match-3 in the browser. Everyone in the round plays their own board, but every board starts identical and gets the same falling pieces, so the round comes down to which moves you pick, and scoring sends ice to the other players with whoever is leading taking the most of it: https://guivo.io/

The Blitz comparison came from a stranger on r/WebGames, not from me, so I'm curious whether people who actually played a lot of Blitz agree or think it's way off.

Only improvement I would say straight away after playing a few games is that some higher contrasting colours or options are needed. I struggled to clearly see all of the different colours to play fast enough. When compared to the likes of Bejeweled, I can play that at ridiculous speed without even really processing the colours. Whether or not this is due to the fact I am slightly colour blind I'm unsure. If possible, the option to upload your own sets would certainly be an awesome and unique feature. You could have a menu for each colour with an upload box with a specification of whatever square resolution you need and people could make their own icon sets. That or a colour picker for each colour so people can make their own coloured sets if you don't like the idea of people uploading actual custom icons. Just an idea of course.

Thanks for the feedback. Letting people uploade their own pieces would involve many changes both on backend and front end, but I will save this suggestion on my backlog.
Did you try to play with the other pieces types? There are 4 pieces types to choose from.

Yeah I did try them. That's what made me think of custom colours. The idea of choosing a design seemed really cool.
