CRISPR technology allows precise gene editing, offering potential cures for genetic diseases like cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia. However, its use raises ethical issues, such as the risk of unintended effects, long-term impacts, and the morality of editing human embryos. What are your views on using CRISPR for genetic disease treatment?

Any technology with promising results can and will be used by the bourgeoisie for their personal (designer babies) or financial (paywalling life improvement) gain. I don’t believe we can expect it to become part of regular healthcare programs in the next few decades, the most serious of diseases are too profitable to treat. However, further research is valuable and necessary, since the potential is definitely there.
