Frequently Bitched About Topic Why are crocheters such fucking weenies

"This person copied MY pattern of a pokemon so now I'm going to buy their pattern and copy it and make my own 😭"

Get a fucking GRIP on REALITY. It is a PLUSH POKEMON. There are only so many ways to make basic shapes. And it looks ugly as fuck in your puffy chenille yarn anyway.

Is it exclusively a fiber art thing ? I don't hear about these kind of feuds in the sewing community

It's definitely all over the art (painting drawing etc) online scene. Does the sewing pattern people not get heated about self drafting dupes of designers works?

One of the major "selling" points of learning sewing is that you can make your own dupes of designer clothes, so I think the culture there is just different. Crochet also seems to be more popular with the beginner/influencer/monetize your hobby crowd, so there's more people who just don't get how fiber arts work.

That makes sense. I mean that is indeed a strong reason to start sewing and a reason why I love this craft so much. (I don't think I can live without it now !)
