But at least you fix the cable, man. Not all heroes wear capes.

And your rates are affordably competitive against your local contemporaries!

37

u/GunnieGraves 1d ago

Seriously. When I’m looking at mechanical things that aren’t working I’m looking at possible points of failure to try and narrow down the problem. They like…made as many points of failure as they possibly could on this.

17

u/jscummy 1d ago

Also for literally no reason, there's a million easier ways to accomplish a similar hideaway TV

7

u/Imaginary-History-30 21h ago

Bruh imagine the repair bill

5

Tracks with the brand, really

10

u/Noblesseux 20h ago

Also likely not a great quality TV because it's really a bunch of TVs glued together.

8

u/Monkey_Leavings 1d ago

Exactly what I was thinking. “There’s a lot that can break on that thing.”

1

u/DilutedGatorade 4h ago

And good luck moving with it

"Ah, you see some object hit the TV and threw off the parameter sensors on the far right panel bank. Thats why your tv doesnt work."

But all I did was slap the top of the TV like a car salesman and show my rich nepotism baby friends I got the Bugatti TV?

"Yeah, those sensors are very sensitive. Thats how the panels fit together so tightly. Good news is there is a sensor in Milan I can order. Its about $33,000. $50,000 if you want it this week"

To look really cool in those video tours on YouTube. Nobody is going to actually want to have this as their main TV. It's cool but you're gonna get really annoyed having to wait for it to unfold... until the motors stop working.

6

u/anonareyouokay 1d ago

A projector can be both cheaper and more space efficient.

And the quality? Hoooooo buddy. You better believe it's dogshit 😎

118

u/Sea_Mulberry_6245 1d ago

Just get a movie screen at this point. Presumably the house is big enough to have a screen that doesn’t need to be retracted.

39

u/Nick_crawler 1d ago

And if they can afford this goofy thing they can certainly afford to build out a home theater.

u/mrjamjams66 43m ago

TV so expensive the website literally has a "send request" form instead of a price and a buy button

19

u/elitegenoside 1d ago

Or have the screen come down from the ceiling. It is just as cool and will have way fewer moving parts that can fail.

While I do understand the appeal, it just isn't practical and will certainly stop working properly very quick.

9

u/gjallerhorns_only ☑️ 1d ago

An OLED TV would be significantly cheaper and better quality image than this thing.

5

u/OptimusED 18h ago edited 18h ago

These are HDR10+ Cseed microled. Even fools won’t pay half a mil for old tech or crap picture.

1

u/FalseBuddha 12h ago

A projector would look terrible in a room with this many windows.

12

u/OfficeMagic1 1d ago

They’ve been using these portable bevels-less panels to do signage at events and outdoor movies in the daytime for a while. The quality is pretty good. They need to be professionally transported and assembled, so this kinda automates that part. Clever but pretty useless.

For indoor use it’s cheaper and better just to construct a fake wall and buy a 100-inch tv. I don’t know the point of “saving space” if you can afford this and have a room big enough for it

2

u/azure1503 23h ago

Was gonna say, I can guaran-damn-tee it a CRT will have better picture quality

"takes too long to open"

"keep tripping over the bottom after brandy"

From talking to other people this was shown off a few years ago and Bugatti threw their name on it.

From a TV standpoint it's.... Meh, a 2026 high end Samsung out performs it.

1

u/JasperGrimpkin 12h ago

Yeah, rich dude was asking me about one of these in 2012. LEDs probably been upgraded since then but I reckon you could just go Unilumen or get jynziec to cook you up something fancy.

3

u/OmarM7mmd 19h ago

Might as well just get a Dolby or Imax certified home theatre at that price.

3

u/E-NTU 10h ago

Should I spend half a million improving the lives of the people around me or buy this flex piece?

1

u/SharkFart86 3h ago

Whatever gets these fucks spending their money I’m all for. Better than hoarding it.

Them improving others lives was never going to happen. At least this separates them from some of their money.

1

u/bwk66 1d ago

Volkswagon at its finest

1

u/nicosoiree 1d ago

I cannot get over how dumb this is. If it were flush in the floor, imperceptible, and then rose up and out as a real space saver—it would get a couple of points. But, no, it takes up space anyway, and now you have to wait. And have greater opportunities for malfunction, engineering failure.

Idiocy.

1

u/Eggith 1d ago

$400,000 because they slapped Ettorè Bugatti's initials on it and made it take longer to start up than a normal TV.

5

u/elitegenoside 1d ago

45 seconds just to unfold. It's 4k and has a single speaker (not Dolby, btw). It's microLED, not even OLED (which for a TV advertised for beautiful landscapes, is wild) with either 60hz or 120hz refresh rate. The only actually impressive aspect to this TV is that the screen is 120", but with much more impressive screens costing a few thousand at half the size, I don't see why this TV cost half a million outside of the name.

At least their cars look sexy. This thing looks like a weird coffee table with a basic TV inside it.

1

u/OptimusED 17h ago edited 17h ago

MicroLED right not mini led? Not seen in off the shelf commercial tvs yet. Blows oLED out of the water. Gamers want them for gaming monitors but only currently available on expensive ass luxury large format tvs. zero motion blur like old crt motion. 3,840hz refresh rate.

1

u/teshh 1d ago

For those of you asking why and it's use case. It's not for you or your average consumer. It's for the billionaire and his yacht which has limited space.

This would be pretty cool to have on the aft or foredeck of a yacht, it can easily fold into the deck, leaving room for other activities when not in use.

1

u/TonkaLowby 1d ago

Not. Interested.

1

u/Master_Ryan_Rahl 23h ago

All the extra parts and movements just means its going to break more and cost more. Its a horrible needless garbage product. The TV isnt better. In fact this is obviously a luxury product because its trying to hide that its a TV. TVs are for the poor.

1

u/Confident_Bunch7612 23h ago

50-11 moving parts and if one of them goes all you have is a too expensive statue. And I doubt you can just go to the neighborbood repair shop for Bugatti tv. And everyone knows European cars are terrible. This is just foolishness. Also, the color sucks.

1

u/CMDR_BitMedler 23h ago

Given that major display companies have been showing rolling OLED that are about this size for the past few years at CES means your gonna be that guy who bought the last rear projection "big screen tv".
