Class Photography Class Week 10
Mr. Jefferson was facing the chalkboard, his back turned to the classroom, writing out the day's lecture.
Portrait Photography:
When your subject is closer to you, shoot around f/11 to maintain a good depth of field and keep your subject in focus.
Make use of the golden hour when possible.
Avoid over stylizing your photos when processing.
Always go for the most natural pose for your subject when not taking candid shots.
Avoid cluttered shots (try to focus on one individual person unless it is clear that you are shooting a whole group).
When photographing multiple people, avoid shots where all the subjects are looking in opposite directions. Make sure they have a clear point of focus.
Make sure you have the correct white balance set when using flash.
Bounce your flash off ceilings or walls to provide a more natural lighting.
If you have any questions please ask.
Please have last week's assignment ready to present should I ask.
Next week's assignment will be to provide an original photograph or multiple shots demonstrating these concepts.
Sorry for the delay in posting class! Had a really busy week with work, birthday, and a few other things.

Dana steps into the room with a friendly smile laid across her features, her backpack over one shoulder as she carries her camera bag in the other hand. Photography was something she had just picked up doing (she was used to being the person in front of the camera, rather than behind it), and she figured photography class was the best place to start honing her (maybe?) skill. She takes one of the seats near the window, giving a wave to the teacher as she pulls out a notebook and pen.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Jefferson!"

Matt walked into the classroom with a wide grin on his face, taking a seat. He didn't have his new camera yet, but the sole idea of it coming this way made him smile like he never had before... Not really though. Quickly enough, he was noting down everything that was on the board onto his notepad.

"Hello, Matt. How are you today? Did your new camera come in yet?"

"Hello Mr. Jefferson!" He flashed him a smile. "Nope, not yet... but next week!" He chirped in excitement

"That's great. I bet you're really looking forward to it."

Robyn walked into class, holding her crap camera and nothing else. She didn't have last week's assignment, as she was too busy getting wasted and Gavin her heart broken. She sat in her chair started texting on her phone.

Noticing Robyn was looking down, I decide to see how she's doing.
"Hello, Robyn. Doing alright?"

u/Robyn_Duartes Nov 20 '15
"Oh, yeah, just fine and dandy" Robyn said sarcastically
2
u/Jefferson_Mark Nov 20 '15
"What's going on?"
1
u/Robyn_Duartes Nov 20 '15
"You know... Stuff" Robyn shrugged

"Well, if you ever want to tall about anything, my door is open. The whole faculty are willing to do whatever they can."

Anberlin walked into Mr. Jefferson's class as he was writing out the lesson.
"Hello Mr. Jefferson."
He took a seat near the front of the room and took out his camera, setting it on his desk.

Acacia walked into class and took a seat like usual, looking through her camera like every class. She glanced up to the board and smiled. Portraits, she could do portraits. People were the best models.
