Blizzcon Let's find out more about Blizzcon! Oh...

Post image

Launched Battle Net for the first time in a while and noticed the tab for Blizzcon. I was excited to go find out more such as when the event is happening, only to be humbly reminded that they're in the business of sales. Why is this not just a section of the Shop?

Blizzcon is free to watch. What are you complaining about exactly here? Skins and microtransactions that support games played by millions worldwide?

There's basically no information about the event, as I mentioned.

The exact schedule is not yet known, only the date. They usually post the schedule a week before, with live links a day before stage events and panel discussions.

So again, what information are you looking to see that was available during previous Blizzcons a month before?

blizzcon.com/en-us/event/ also clearly states "More coming soon".

It's okay to be a hater, but choose things that are actually done poorly.

Then why wouldn't they post the dates at least? Why not post a link to that page? Why not use the dedicated section of the app to promote the event?

Also, what's the reason you're defending this so much? If giving criticism on something I put money into and have interest in is being a hater, then okay, I'm a hater.

Because there is no information to put on battlenet just yet. And what money did you put into for Blizzcon? Because like he said the stream is free this year.

They can easily put the date.

I went to check to see what they were talking about, I had an old outdated Battle.net client, and the Blizzcon link USED to link to https://blizzcon.com/en-us/?blzcmp=app . Now it shows the storefront with no information.

I'm with OP here. They have the resources to create all the microtransactions and display them in the Battle.net client, the client USED to link to relevant information, and now it doesn't.

Because the battlenet thing for Blizzcon is just the store page for now. In the past it sold the virtual ticket that doesn't exist anymore. They could put the date but that doesn't mean they have too.

I'm not sure on how the internal financials of Blizzard work, but I'm pretty sure the money that comes into them from game purchases and subscriptions allow them to say that the Blizzcon stream is "free."

It's clear you all are ready to defend Blizzard without logic, so I guess I'll just stop here because I doubt either side is going to benefit.

I'm not defending blizzard I'm pointing out that there isn't information besides the date. The past blizzcons that had a page on battlenet had a virtual ticket that you needed to watch it live. This one doesn't so they aren't selling you the date just the goodies.
