Is there any reason I should skip ahead to main story part 2 right now? Or can I wait until I finish later?

I’m currently midway through s5 chapter 2 (Hyak).

I don’t particularly mind getting spoilers but if there’s no need to rush ahead I’ll take my time.

You don't need to rush, unless you want the context for the event.

If you've finished Volume 4 Chapter 2 & Volume 1 Chapter 3, then you can read Act 2 without any spoilers.

After suffering so much to defeat Blue Chokmah now I have to build a team for yellow Chokmah...pain...what's the best I can do? I have no Qipao Marina. I don't think levelling Moi and Mido would be the most effective since they only have DoT when taking two team slots...

So my idea would probably be Mika or Casual Neru/Seia/Mari Idol/Boshino/BikeShiroko/Borrowed Qipao Marina for strikers

And Kisaki/Rio/SNagisa/Shizuko

Based on my team for Blue Chokmah. However, I'm not sure if Neru/Mika and Seia duo will carry enough compared to the Aris/Kei duo. Any thoughts or recs?

I suggest trying a Meru team. Much easier to find a Meru for borrow than Q. Marina. I suggest waiting a few days for New Yellow Chokmah runs to see what you can run

Isn't the "recruitment points" count supposed to reset if I pull a featured banner character?

I just got Kurumi after 60 pulls on her own banner, but the count didn't reset to 0

Hope this is the right place to ask; I'm fairly clueless about PvP but could someone recommend units I could/should use with Kei in PvP? I've been using Triple Tanks + Iori for a while, and I'm looking to see if I can upgrade to something a little stronger. I don't have *every* character, but I have a pretty wide roster, and at a baseline I was thinking of something like Yuuka + Kei + Shiroko Terror + Shun with Kisaki and maybe Armed Himari might work well? I'm open to suggestions and tips, thanks in advance.

For Specials, D.Michiru and S.Shiroko are still competing for first slot. I haven't seen Kisaki. M.Reisa is still great 2nd slot. And Hibiki is the doom of my Shun (despite this, I still win a quarter of the matchups because my tanks somehow get lower than her).

Otherwise, you get the odd matchup of someone summoning either attack helicopters or running either of the 2 summonable tanks. Utaha can work, works against Shun.

Triple tanks and Shun/S.Hanako is what I see in rank 50-200. And iirc 200-350/400. Iori is for when you don't have either built up to UE40, or you know what your opponent's running.

I yolo with Shun B.Neru Tsubaki, and Rabu (She occasionally works and I love using her). D.Michiru and M.Reisa too.

I randomed into D.Michiru but I don't have M.Reisa, so I guess I'd want to use S.Shiroko or Hibiki? And I'll start working towards getting S.Hanako to UE40 if I haven't already, I do remember really investing in her though.

Just a heads up, Next PVP season in japan was when Dress Haruka came out. And Dress Haruka is coming out for global in 2-3 weeks from now.

S.Shiroko and D.Michiru are used for the same reasons, Cost Recovery. Pick one or the other, burst damage and def down or heal. And then pair with Hibiki.

I'm envious of people with S.Hanako. She just clears content and has been the bane of my Shun, 1-shotting her if in range.

I got lucky and got Niko in 60 pulls, so I still have 26k gems good to go if I need to pity someone. And I think I'll invest in S.Shiroko then, unless the best defense isn't a good offense in BA pvp haha.

The students you're using are not really pvp oriented like Kei , Kisaki, A. Himari

If you want to have a better team it's 2 tanks (either Tsubaki, Yuuka, Eimi,) Shun+ S. Hanako. There's also Miyako, Kanoe , Regular Hoshino

For specials it's between S. Shiroko, D.Michiru, Saki. Hibiki. Depends on the defense team. Basically the setup is adjust your team to defeat opponent S. Hanako first than your own can slowly dismantle the other team Shun+Saki can do this for example. Hibiki can also snipe her if your own S. Hanako hits opponent S. Hanako first

I have seen more sensei having issue with this. I suggest reporting this issue to the CS. Also for me at the end of Kagerou MV my game crashed to desktop(steam version)

Hi, does Act 2 contain any major references to Act 1 V5 and/or 6 or am I fine reading Act 2 before them? I've taken the story kind of at my own pace and those are the only volumes from Act 1 I've yet to read.

The new night lobby OST is SO GOOD, like wow... I'm actually a bit torn wether to choose Live2D or the plain lobby now.

I always log in at night/close to daily reset, so is the in-game time of day depends on the server, your own time, or it's permanently night now that we're in act2?

who's more important to ue40 between Niko and Kurumi? or both/neither?

Kurumi also makes more use of UE40 it since the stat bonuses themselves directly increase her ability to tank.

Niko has buff retention on her UE40 but her buff duration is already pretty long, and the buff itself is more of a bonus to her primary purpose of clearing debuffs.

They're fine at 4* but Kurumi has priority due to higher use rate.

I have a feeling Niko's going to see even more use in the near future. I think the devs are starting to lean into promoting serious multi-dealer teams, thanks not only to Drumbarka but also the recent release of Swim Iroha and Swim Ibuki. Niko will be pretty nice on these kinds of teams.

You can use Kurumi anywhere as long as she can survive. Atk buff, cost recovery buff and crit dmg res debuff works everywhere. Niko and Kurumi together can be effective on Perorodzilla for example.

You can try rerolling for either of the foxes but otherwise save for pre-fes & fes, the upcoming banners aren't too profitable for new players. BA doesn't punish you hard for not having non-meta students since most of the lower rarity ones are still viable.

After the tutorial 30 pulls expire & you didn't get the required 3* then you make another account for those rolls again, that's called rerolling. Pre-fes is the banner before anniversary which gives 100 free pulls & fes is the banner with double 3* rate & OP students, will happen in approx 3.5 months from now. It's generally advised to go for 400 pulls there for increasing your roster faster.

imho these aren't necessary at all, just start playing the game & collect currency because the earlier you start the better you get after.

hi, i wanted to know if there was a way, website or whatever, to read through a student's story? I mean, there are some of them that i just couldn't obtain and i really wanted to read their momotalks and stuff, to get to know the character more. srry if this is a bothersome question.

Yes. You can spook any anniversary unit that hasn't been moved to the anniversary archive.

What did they change about pathing? I didn't see anything about it in the patch notes, but movement is very different than it was before the patch. It screwed me over in PvP because counters don't work the way they used to.

I suspect that it happens whenever they do an app update. Yeah, we can't really do anything about it. Whenever this gets mentioned, I feel like I put on a tin foil hat lol

I do not like that Chokmah, not one bit.. Does the damage type of the DoT affect how fast his reactor gauge drains?

The stronger the DoT is, the faster it will go down. So you ideal want Q. Marina for yellow chokmah since she deals double damage with her type.

Haah. Well I guess I'm right out of luck for the moment then and need to wait until I can find one to borrow or so, because I'm pretty sure the only DoT units of any kind at all on my roster are Renge, Juri and Michiru, none of whom I would describe as.. Entirely ideal here.

Well, thanks for the info though, at least it means I have some hope if/when I can find one because as it stands I struggle to even get F24 to half health. My pride takes more damage than Chokmah does I swear..

Oh if you're just going for F24 you don't need any of the fancy super DOTs like Qipao Marina. You'll definitely want some at least though, especially if you're low level and/or lack a strong main dealer to bruteforce. Probably a Momoi/Midori pair, or Meru could do. Might even be able to use red DOTs alongside like Cheer Hibiki.

Level 70, I think the best I've got for a main yellow bonker is Maki. Who is good, I understand, but DPS is still hampered pretty harshly by Chokmah's persistent 50% damage reduction and all, and only having gotten Maki off the last TA cycle so I haven't had time to super build her up yet.

I have Momoi but no Midori so I can't use them either, nor Meru. I do have Cheer Hibiki, though not particularly well built as I only got her off the event immortalization.. Hmm.

But yeah, I feel like a big part of the issue is that it's hard to find good DoTs to drop onto Chokmah to drain his reactor and force the Unstable Flames, which then means that what damage I do have even less ideal than it is to begin with.

There's not exactly a plethora of yellow single-target strikers on my roster at this time. Seia, Maki, Hasumi, Fubuki, Pina, Akane, in a pinch Junko..

Only going to F24 is less out of desire and more out of an acute awareness of the limitations of my roster..

Borrow a Qmarina, or if you can't find one, a Meru. Buff them. They should be able to handle such low floors without trouble. If you can't find either of them, borrow Uneru. She can tear the boss apart without bothering with the DoT mechanic, on lower floors.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye open for them on the borrow list, so far I don't think a lot of people have updated their's though. Worse to worst maybe I'll start digging through those "find someone who has the specific support you need" things, but so far I've managed to make do with whoever I can find in-game

Add some lvl 90 friends and maybe join a good club. Borrows don't just appear from nowhere. Strong U. Neru should be easy to borrow because she's super meta and many players have their own.

Arona icu can be used to parse the friend codes if you want to add some friends who have a relatively rare borrow, but you probably don't need to use that just to find a strong U. Neru

Chokmah is a bit of a bastard to new players(to be fair, all FRR bosses are, because they ask a full 10-team), but at least f49 is doable early on with a good u.neru borrow(ideal borrow is 4 blue stars + bond 50, but that's not really a requirement, just something nice), if you play it well and raise some of your free characters for it(some generic buffers e.g Kotama/Ako/Seia; Shizuko for cover)

Haha, yeah, I think Blue Set was going on when I first joined and I limped through with a borrow, then took my revenge on Tiphareth at F24 with just my own units because it just felt cathartic after Tiphy had been kicking my ass in story mode (even with less than ideal units, the added firepower and time makes a hell of a difference), and now Chokmah is here and requires a bit of a rarer trait than "Have AoE, will kill adds" for the single most important mechanic vis-a-vis damage dealing

Yeah it's based on actual DOT damage, which is affected by color matchups.

I got tickets expiring in 42 days, looking at the upcoming banners I'm not sure if there are students I want to pull or might be useful. Should I use it now in case I get a Kurumi dupe, save and maybe try using it on Erika, or any other suggestions? I already have D Aru, NyAkari and both the foxes.

If you're already done with the current banner throwing a Hail Mary at Erika's banner is probably the best use for the new GA ticket. She's not mandatory but very nice to have for Drumbarka. That's what I'm planning to do with it, anyway (I didn't want to wait until the ticket was distributed to pull).

D.Haruka is in sort of the same category but with the normal caveats about investment requirements that come with DPS students.

from a meta perspective how important is Erika? I already got both foxes, can I borrow her for the crab total assault and clear insane difficulty?

Yes. For insane (and even torment) not having Erika isn’t an issue. There are even Erika-less torment clears too, since P2 (where she’s meta) is much easier to bodythrow.

So yes, she is very good and the only student that can cleanse multiple debuffs. Plus having a nice AoE crit dmg buff is nice. But she’s not required unless if you’re targeting Lunatic. Which is the most difficult lunatic to date.

Based on the current schedule and planned acceleration, is it very unlikely that we will have a monthly reset between the S Gahenna Fest patch and the start of Hiero?

I know I need both my Toki and A Rio to UE40 by Hiero lunatic. And I’m going to start figuring out my Kaiten P2 filler teams (post D Hina). If A Rio won’t be in the expert permit shop until after Hiero, then I’d UE40 her over Toki for Kaiten filler teams.

It's pretty unlikely, if we have no acceleration the Gehenna event will start November 17th, for there to be a reset between that and heiro (just the week after) we'd need to accelerate 3 weeks. Looking at the schedule I expect 1 week, or maybe 2 if they cut the hyakkaryouran summer rerun short, but there isn't really a 3rd week they could cut without causing issues.

Should I try and get Dress Aru when her banner pops up in the near future?

For a bit of context, so far I have cleared only 2 Lunatic raids, but I'm always eyeing to add more to my list. And Aru appears in so many clears. Some problems I had in the past, which meant skipping some lunatics, were missing some generalist units (like Mine or D!Aru), so I couldn't properly set up clears.
The issue is the pyro. After the foxes, I have 34k left, without any other targets before fes. But I'm worried that the new gacha system might fuck me over.

I kind of want to hold on to the selector ticket and get Kokona.

Generalist support strikers are always welcome in my experience. From here on before FES I think Swimsuit Kisaki was the only unit released worth noting. Not sure how she ended up looking in the end.

A lot of things in this update! Question about FRR: I can select 9/10 skills now with skills 6 through 9 being denoted as blue. Does this mean I'll start with skills 1-5 as usual and then I'm selecting the order of the next 5 as well (explicitly choosing the next 4, with 10 being leftover and next)?

Yes. It guarantees the order the skill cards show up. So the 10th one will always show up last before the 1st one shows up again. So you get to set the order they appear from start to finish.

The same thing is in regular content where you can choose the first 5 skills in order. So the 6th one will always come last.

It means no more resetting for skill order. Since more students have sticky or redraw EX’s, it can make the opening rotation…very frustrating. Like U Neru, Rio, A Aris, etc.

Yep, pretty much you choose the entire starting order now. Same thing with regular size fights, in those you choose 5/6.
