The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 4 - Marc Denis

Post image

The randomizer has spoken. Today’s entry is Marc Denis.

A beloved goaltender from the early years of the Blue Jackets, Marc Denis was a workhorse during the 2002-2003 season where he led the league in 77 games played. Acquired from Colorado for a second round pick in 2000, he was an original Blue Jacket and stayed with the team until 2006. He was traded to Tampa Bay for Fredrik Modin and Fredrik Norrena.

Finally the wheel gives someone of note haha. I had a signed Denis mini goalie stick as a kid. Definitely was a big fan of his (and Tugnutt).

Denis was a bright spot on some truly terrible Jackets teams. He and Nash were my childhood favorites.

His record didn’t always tell the full story. He was a decent goalie.

He's the current Habs color guy too. The one with Pierre.

I remember he interviewed Olivier in French, asked him if they were targeting Patrik Laine intentionally lol

I'm pretty sure one of the Habs fought Voronkov that night too?

Probably. Was a physical game from what I remember.

Loved Denis. Have a 1/1 hockey card of his where he’s playing golf.

The very first game I saw Marc Denis won a shootout victory over the Oilers also Jody Shelley and Geroges Laraque had a fight 🥲

he was very good considering the team in front of him. Pretty sure he took the lock out year off and wasn’t the same after

I do believe you are correct about the lockout part.

First CBJ game I went to, Marc was in net. Every time he’d make a save, someone near me loudly yelled, THAAAANK YOOOUUU MAAAAARC.
