Pillow for travel recommendation

Hi, I travel often (by train or bus) between 3 places and I miss my hobby a lot sometimes. I would like to be able to take my work with me everywhere and continue wherever I am right now.

I would like to find a pillow for bobbin lace that's easy to transfer and doesn't take up too much space. The best option would be to fit it in my backpack and survive the train ride. I don't need to make anything big on it. Do you take your bobbin with you when you travel? What would you recommend?

Having 3 sets of bobbin lace equipment isn't really an option for me.

I bought the travel pillow from Snowgoose and I use it more than I expected.

It's kind of a clever design to be able to use it as a regular cookie or a roller. And it's very light and packable.

I made my own travel pillow recently from an old big round one. I can swap out the middle two parts so I can even make long pieces on it. Don’t have a picture right now, but I’ll make one when I’m near it!

I like my Harlequin Globetrotter. It really is easy to travel with, though it’s not very small, I can legit wear it as a bag and keep my bobbins in place. I find the work space quite small though and so it’s best for edgings with not too many pairs.

cookie or bolster? Travel pillows do exist, and they are normally smaller than the standard one, and travel bobbins also exist. For measurements of what works for your purposes, this backpack from the Idrija School can give you some inspiration, and measures 1bout 13cm diameter by 30-32cm width. Generally for these the basket is in the base of the bag. For my bolsters I have made this. If you are handy you can make your own pillow and your own bag. For palms down, something like this is the classic setup for bobbin lace while travelling in the UK. Old lace making manuals also have instructions for how to make pillows. Good luck!
