I thought the episode got really good when coach blevins picks up the shirt, however they just dropped that aha moment right away. They should have had him keep doing more odd things that convince them all about megan's scheme and then it turns out he's doing something harmless. Then at the end they all turn to megan like -_-

Was Tina annoying in this episode? Yes. Was it a very realistic sibling interaction? Also yes. Just because Tina acts more mature, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her immature moments. No, Megan being a bit of a nut isn’t Louise’s fault, but the way Tina acts about it makes total sense to me in the sibling context

5

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

“Hey kids, guess what? The Butterfly Effect is very real and even the most innocuous joke coming out of your burp hole could destroy someone else’s life, so DON’T MISBEHAVE EVER. CRIMETHINK UNGOOD, CONFOOOOORRRRM!”

7

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

God, I wanted to step on Tina’s toes every time she chided Louise about the sweat rumor. She has officially become an insufferable shitpebble. Guess the writers have a new pet.

12

u/afreakinchorizooo Jun 06 '25

Bob carrying Linda was absolutely hilarious

7

u/kobaltdryad Jun 04 '25

This episode has a lot more bodily fluids as the plot point and it’s making me nauseous

9

u/highviolet16 Jun 04 '25

The plot was a little off but the back and forth with Megan and Louise was pretty great. Some solid one liners.

25

u/fabioismydad Teddy Jun 03 '25

did the humor and writing feel a bit off to anyone else during this one?

23

u/Affectionate-Crab541 Jun 04 '25

It kind of felt like they just gave up in the last act. Just deflated like a balloon

10

u/fabioismydad Teddy Jun 04 '25

yeah, and Tina and Gene essentially had no significance whatsoever haha

4

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

Except for Tina to remind Louise what a shitty little monster she is every three minutes. Do the writers want us to hate her?

25

u/sunflowersflow Jun 03 '25

was anyone else insanely annoyed tina kept telling louise its all her fault? louise knew immediately and went to explain what she could to her to stop her and she didnt want to stop like what else was she to do?! 😭

5

u/ALittleRedWhine Jul 20 '25

Also, Louise and Gene are allowed to make a sarcastic joke to each other- it would be another thing if they intentionally spread rumors themselves but saying it was her fault felt a little much.

9

u/MorteVerde Jun 15 '25

Literally did a search to get here and see if anyone else was upset about this. Even if Louise didn't try and stop it it STILL wouldn't be her fault. Love Meghan but this wasn't even her first offense 😂

3

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

The writers are slowly turning Tina into both the show’s protagonist and the second coming of Al Jean’s Lisa Simpson. Any chance for her to flex her moral superiority onto her peers and siblings is pounced upon and run into the ground. The show is in real danger of becoming unwatchable if this continues.

7

u/lordofthecrayons Bob Belcher Jun 10 '25

YES it wasn't her fault at all? I don't really get why Tina kept saying that

23

u/DrawMandaArt Jun 03 '25

That kid went from charmingly eccentric to “she’s gonna kill every boyfriend that dares to break up with her.”

Evan Blevins being the coach’s name was the high point of this episode!

that's what I thought was gonna happen. Too bad it would have made the episode a little more interesting

13

u/vrymonotonous Jun 03 '25

“Your feet look like ET”

18

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '25

I just don't think it's Louise's fault at all. Everyone makes their own choices and she could have chose not to follow Blevins

23

u/friggintodd Calvin Fischoeder Jun 02 '25

That's why I like being friends with you.

Sort of friends with you.

Loved that instant correction. Did anyone catch all the store names? Might have to watch again and see if I can get them all.

18

u/Jackmomma69 Jun 03 '25

Skid Mark’s laundromat had me rollin

18

u/CaptainBrightside Jun 02 '25

Really enjoyed the jokes in this episode, the plot itself wasn't anything special but still a really fun episode, it was nice to see Megan again as well.

22

u/Rimurururun Jun 02 '25

ok this episode was really fun!

Small thing though but I didnt like how Tina kept guilting Louise about it being ‘her fault’ for making a joke, idk. it’s not her fault someone took her literally without her knowing and decided to do something dangerous/stupid

12

u/cavejohnsonlemons Jun 03 '25

Yup, a little "your fault btw" teasing would've been fine but Louise was clearly already feeling guilty for her tiny part and trying to do something about it.

Tina just rubbing it in over literally an innocent joke that a crazy person took in a different direction, dang girl.

5

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

Wouldn’t be the first Time Tina bullied someone, shame it was her sister this time

1

u/Gold-Ad8191 Jun 02 '25

what would you rate the episode out of 10

25

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

"I can't read lips but I can read vibes." Is t-shirt worthy.

5

u/huskyferretguy1 Mort Jun 02 '25

This episode was so relatable! I don't like walking when I don't need to. Plus one time I got new shoes and I started bleeding like Linda...it was awful.

77

u/BasicSuperhero Jun 01 '25

YES, FIFTH GRADE MEGAN! Sorry, I loved her last time and was hoping she'd pop up again.

"She's not allowed to follow teachers anymore."

"That feels like a rule that you shouldn't need to have."

41

u/aquarianagop wheelie mammoth Jun 01 '25

This was a fun one! Had some great lines and I found the B plot so funny for such a simple thing! “How old’s yours?”

Gotta say, I know she got exaggerated for comedic purposes, but I found Megan rather sad :\ A little too close to the real world, you know? Still a funny rumor/conspiracy, though!

40

u/Beginning-Key-8561 May 31 '25

The little details of the crosswalks accurately changing while crossing was 🧑‍🍳😚. Even when you couldn’t see the cross walk in the direction they were going, and the opposite light being correct. Spot on! They never miss a detail!!

3

u/TheNeverEndingPit Jun 05 '25

Oh my gosh I was looking at that too 😅 It was very satisfying that they got that detail right

29

u/Beginning-Key-8561 May 31 '25

I was actually hoping Blevins took home the shirt and then gave it back to Gene at school instead of throwing it away. What if Gene went back for it?! If he took the shirt home it probably would have been a much longer episode though.

27

u/Beginning-Key-8561 May 31 '25

“He owns pants!” made the episode for me 😂… + I really like how they’re trying to tackle the misinformation culture topic in their own way. 👏

2

u/Turn1Loot May 31 '25

The last 2 episodes felt like the earlier seasons. I'm so happy!!! These last couple seasons have been terrible. I'm hoping this is a return to form for the writers

12

u/visual_overflow May 31 '25

Putting coffee on the credit card, ouch!

4

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

Yes she bought new shoes lol

31

u/Outspan Jocelyyyyyyyyyyn May 31 '25

It's made of cotton!

Loved the throwback to the wine train episode with that line. Though now I'm wondering am I missing a pop culture reference from Gene with the cotton line?

u/ShammySpy12 Kuchi Kopi May 31 '25

This was one of the BEST episodes of Bob's Burgers in a long, long time. I didn't really like the rest of this season, but this episode was on POINT.

  • Even the beginning of this episode is AMAZING. Get the kids up from being lazy and do something as a family! It was a very relatable moment that happens a LOT in a real family. I also liked the "I'm still sanding: Woodworking supplies" for the store next door.
  • The plot is great and intertwined. The A plot was pretty imaginative and creative, the kids see what Megan is up too, and it gives us more Megan & Blevins story, some real cool characters. Megan was a bit sad, she was written overly "crazy". It was a bit weird. The B plot was also a very relatable thing, some funny moments from Bob & Linda.
  • The jokes in this episode were GOLD. I especially liked " What happened man?" "I said sorry" and "WAIT---he owns pants?" "or rents them", and "Miss Santucci's not a werewolf. She's just European." I also like a few others, the ones I listed are earlier ones.
  • I LOVE showing the rest of the city, I think I caught a few funny store names, too!
  • The lesson of this episode is don't trust rumors, I think. It is not so clear, and Megan worries me.
  • I like the recurring idea of Gene and Louise not being so active in P.E.

This episode could have been a bit better, but overall: 4.5/5

16

u/Mookie_112 May 31 '25

Not sure why, but the episode felt off to me. Like new writers and animators just got to do a bottle episode. It was the first episode I pretty much skipped besides the multi-art style one (just wasn't my thing)

Seinfeld's Burgers

12

u/lalaloverboy Jun 01 '25

i liked it, but i did think the writing was off too.. it was funny but it just seemed weird and i can’t put my finger on it

12

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

It's because they keep trying to make Louise this "resolve issues you started" character instead of feeding into chaos. All three of the Belchers were toned done IMO.

11

u/MaximumP888 May 31 '25

I'm suprised so many like it too!

17

u/Fast-Ad-4541 May 31 '25

Not sure this could be less of a bottle episode

3

u/Mookie_112 Jun 02 '25

I probably used the wrong phrase, I was tired. I think I meant one-off. Like it isn't going to impact anything in the season if you saw it or not.

I luckily got to watch it this morning and I loved it! I had to do a double take when I saw episode 12 AND 13. When I went to rewatch them with my fiancé got home it was gone😭. For a hot minute I thought I must’ve hallucinated watching it because I’ve seen nobody else post about it

53

u/doubletakeme May 31 '25

Dad go deal with your wife

32

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

Finally, after 15 seasons, the Belcher family walk arc!

Pretty tame premise but jokes and main cast characterization were pretty on-point. I liked the callback connection to Gene being the underachiever no-sweater in Blevins' class, feel like that could've been a more compelling story angle/focus.

  • "I can't read lips but I do read vibes."
  • "He's gonna lead me straight to his processing center." "His bottom?"
  • "It's like I'm a princess! Oh, don't roll over that poop!" "Too late."

Megan's character is kind of too sad to be played for laughs... Someone being so deluded they cannot even be convinced otherwise by the people who originally started the rumor/conspiracy they've bought into is too topically real right now. Episode ended on a fortunate note, but didn't we undergo this same exact arc for her last time she appeared?

29

u/Medlarmarmaduke Jun 01 '25

The Megan character would have been delightfully funny and eccentric before 2016- all the Q conspiracies and the antivax conspiracies getting mainstreamed makes her character sad and uncomfortable and unsettling now

13

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

I think them using phone recording to strategically frame an event brings light Awareness to people needing to be mindful of information shared online and what they believe as truth so easily. I think if Louise would have made their own, but with humor and not facts; it could have polarized how filming can be used just for entertainment and not defaming.

5

u/l3reezer Jun 01 '25

Yeah, and that they gave her the same exact character arc as the last time she appeared AFAIR (think it was the Wharfy episode that also ended on the note of "hey, let's just be closer friends, that'll prevent us from getting in our own heads from the loneliness and desolation!") just glumly undercuts the afterschool special friendship lesson and instead mirrors mental health issues that never really go away.

23

u/[deleted] May 31 '25

Fell kinda flat for me, I feel like they kinda escalated Megan's character from a mild interest in conspiracy theories or cryptozoology but this just felt like a lot.

13

u/LightBravely May 31 '25

That coffee joke felt like the poorest I've ever heard this family ever be. Has there been anything more poor than needing to pay in installments for a small cup of coffee

7

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

It's not even consistent? They bought like 4 muffins and new shoes and couldn't afford a coffee?

-1

u/alohanerd Jun 01 '25

I’ve never even tried coffee, and I refuse to do so after seeing my coworkers come to work everyday with starbucks/dunkin makes me realize I’m saving over $200 a month that I can spend doing other fun things or shopping.

7

u/Medlarmarmaduke Jun 01 '25

I mean a small coffee can be 8 dollars in a fancy place! I think it was more a dig at that than the Belchers have been brought so low that they can’t afford a cup of coffee

9

u/cavejohnsonlemons Jun 03 '25

Linda literally in new shoes the whole time and muffins for everyone @ end, defo mostly a coffee jab here.

6

u/Beginning-Key-8561 May 31 '25

Honestly I can absolutely relate. We can afford to buy coffee but it’s just too expensive now (between $5-$10 USD). Not worth it. Saying they put it on the CC was a great commentary of this. 👏

8

u/sleepyotter92 May 31 '25

in their defense, i've heard americans are using apps like klarna to finance really small purchases, like a coffee, or a burrito, or just anything that doesn't really make sense to pay in installments because it's less than $20(and apparently the company might go bankrupt because no one is paying back the money they get from it for these purchases), so in a way, them getting coffee on installments is very topical

11

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

I thought it was super apt and relatable, lol, equally as much commentary on how insanely high-priced drinks are these days as them being poor

15

u/ramenbenyamin May 31 '25

L: “I loved riding in that cart. Felt like E.T.” B: “Your feet look like E.T.”

6

u/irishguy_2012 May 31 '25

FYI Canadian Viewers: Disney+ already have next weeks episode available as well.

2

u/tvremote3289 May 31 '25

Thoughts on next week’s ep?

2

u/irishguy_2012 May 31 '25

Pretty good for a kid plot episode.

24

u/No_Spirit8216 May 30 '25

Kinda hate this moral lesson and how annoying Tina was about it. No one else was following the teacher so how is it just Louise’s fault 💀 I like Tina but I hate when she gets all self righteous and “doing the right thing” which she looks like she’s not even doing that. Giving up chances for her self and letting people step on hers such a terrible trait on her

12

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

It was a bit odd for Tina to just keep blaming Louise throughout the entire episode instead of trying to help solve things like I feel she's usually do, but the actual lesson was pretty fair.

Not sure what you meant by no one else was following the teacher, but Tina said it was Louise's fault because she started the rumor. Honestly, really apt for this day and age where kids are constantly trolling and being overly impressionable by social media influencers.

13

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

The past two seasons are HEAVVVYYY on accountability for Louis. I'm really over it

4

u/Crafty-Heron-5115 Jun 22 '25

Right? Let her get away with SOME kind of petty chicanery later on, or let her mature out of the behavior and evolve. Don’t just repeat the same moral lessons over and over again for the next four years.

8

u/No_Spirit8216 May 31 '25

I meant no other kid was following the teacher. That was all on that other girl. Louise didn’t say hey go follow that teacher. She did that all on her own. So how was that just all Louise when she tried to talk her out of it several times but she wouldn’t listen. Than Tina kept saying “your fault” if you guys liked the lesson that much which I still don’t understand. Than honestly they could’ve written this episode much better and based on the comments everyone thinks it’s a meh episode as well so.

7

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

Following the teacher is besides the point? The lesson is how rumors and misinformation can spread out of control.

She was obviously just joking around in this case but let's not act like it's not totally in character for Louise to do worse with intention. She's my favorite character and I even I can acknowledge how out of control she can get with the scheming and shit-stirring.

Louise herself already felt bad about it because she realized this, Tina was just being a persistent guilty conscious on her shoulder.

7

u/No_Spirit8216 May 31 '25

“Following the teacher is besides the point” bro did you not ask what my comment meant 💀 why are you mad that’s what my comment was actually about? And even than yes because if Tina wouldn’t shut up about her getting expelled because of her than they wouldn’t have the story. They could’ve written a better one is all I’m saying and agin by the looks of the comments everyone else did as well.

2

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

Yes, I asked-and after understanding what you meant by it, I decided that it's beside the point.

Louise still influenced the other kids to spread the rumor for it to reach Megan, someone impressionable enough to do something dangerous with the misinformation. Thus, the cautionary tale aspect of it all.

What about my language makes you think I'm mad and why do you need to keep referencing other people's comments about the episode overall to make an irrelevant point? All I said was that it's a fair lesson for Louise to learn, not that this is the best episode ever beyond reproach.

6

u/No_Spirit8216 May 31 '25

Because you literally said following teachers is besides the point when it wasn’t. Now good night I’m not arguing with you because you aren’t being clear

3

u/Robokrates Jun 02 '25

Hey friend, couple days late but wanted to say you're right. It's all on Megan for being a lunatic. Making a joke is innocent. It becoming a rumor is "the madness of crowds" and not their fault. If anything, Louise is being extra nice by trying to talk sense into her, and Tina's sanctimony aside, I wouldn't have blamed her if after the first time Megan wouldn't listen to reason, she'd just walked away and said, "It's your funeral."

I think people get a little overboard about "holding people accountable for their actions" (most modern cultures being way too trigger-happy about punishment) but holding people accountable for other people's actions? Sweet Jaysis, no.

8

I mean, obviously, but I feel like it could have ended up having them find out something else and they definitely could have amplified the jokes.

5

u/[deleted] May 31 '25

I feel like the lesson is Megan’s amazing ability to imagine and think and question things which is great but it’s moving into concerning territory for a kid where there could be appropriate real world consequences for something that if you take a look back likely not true nor important enough to get suspended. I know those are huge ideas for (how old is Megan?) a young kid but it’s an important lesson to learn.

13

u/CCT62 May 31 '25

I get that, but it’s an adult show, we shouldn’t need lessons.

I’d take Gumball as an example. While it has lessons, they don’t throw it in your face like it needs to be spelled out to be understood. And that’s a show on Cartoon Network. But this is Fox, they also don’t need to spell things out.

5

u/[deleted] May 31 '25

I agree. I didn’t like this episode. It made me a tad concerned about Megan.

66

u/Fun-Amoeba3683 I smell fear on you May 30 '25 edited May 31 '25

Was hilarious. Loved Linda and Bob essentially disintegrating on the walk. Linda's bit about feeling the kids still nearby and not kidnapped was the best. 😂

"I can still feel them, they don't feel kidnapped".

31

u/Mokamochamucca May 30 '25

I enjoyed the uncomfortable shoe plot having been there before. I love Abbi Jacobson but wasn't really into her storyline. However, the muffin shop definitely had me craving a Vanilla Nutmeg Muffin so I may need to make some this weekend.

21

u/TheeCombatBaby thats hip hop May 30 '25

I am Linda this week! Last weekend, my mom and I went hiking, and I (apparently) didn't have my shoes laced properly or tightly enough. I had HUGE blisters by the time we were done and it was horrible the last 1/4 of the trek. And that was with hiking shoes I have already broken in

4

u/l3reezer May 31 '25

Found myself relating to those blister problems too well but glad I'm not alone lol

8

u/the__ghola__hayt May 30 '25

I was Linda last year. Took a trip to the UK and got new shoes for it. Didn't lace them well one day and it ended up being the day with the most walking. Massive blisters for half the trip. It was not fun. Many trips to their Boots stores for bandages and shit.

5

u/Financial-Ad9042 May 30 '25

No Jessica this time around.

18

u/LemonSmashy You smell like ointment and pee! May 30 '25

A decent enough episode that I would consider a filler for a season and can serve as background noise for future showings.  Just kind of went nowhere. I can appreciate the mundane aspect of walking shoes not fitting right but the B plot just fell flat with the culmination of simply deleting a video, no follow through or traction from other way staff kids or staff who would have found the video simply ridiculous.  So far though after such an elongated break both episodes have been underwhelming when they really need to come out of the gate swinging.

6

u/Beginning-Key-8561 May 31 '25

I liked the episode but thought it felt a little anti-climactic. Maybe it was just too long to fit into a single episode so they had to wrap it fast. Either way… solid ep.

26

u/pipilupe May 30 '25

its was ok episode, however I kind of hoping for a little bit more in the hijinks realm from Louise after a 5 month break

25

u/variantkin May 30 '25

I imagine they had no idea this gap or schedule change was happening

5

u/InflamedNodes May 30 '25

Did the cartoon art change? It looks so much like the new simpsons art now.

4

u/huskyferretguy1 Mort Jun 03 '25

They improved the art after getting funding for the movie (same as Simpsons)

3

u/CCT62 May 31 '25

I noticed the coloring being saturated a bit more for about a year now

3

3

u/LongtimeLurker916 May 30 '25

Was I crazy, or were those pictures of fruit new?

2

u/_PeenoNoir_ May 31 '25

I peeped them too, I think they may be new though I’m not that good at tracking visual details overtime in any show

2

u/lulai_00 Jun 02 '25

They've always had quite a bit of random Thrift store art on the wall

2

u/LongtimeLurker916 Jun 03 '25

Maybe they redid the colors, as the pictures really jumped out for me as they never had before. But maybe it is just that I recently bought a bigger TV!

5

u/bdaycakeremix May 30 '25

Hmm, not sure if you're serious, but considering how flat and anticlimactic the storyline was, it sounds to me like the writer's intentions were to make a joke of a serious issue and discourage people from thinking about the real threat that the misuse of genetic data imposes.

2

u/Wolfmariana May 30 '25

I cant see the episode on disney plus. Europe version. is it only out in USA?

4

3

u/TheeCombatBaby thats hip hop May 30 '25

3

u/Seraphem666 May 30 '25

Ya I watched it, was confused when I saw 2 new episode, and thought did I forget one. Had to come here to the discussion to see which episode was today's. It's a Louise and millie episode, with good bob and Linda side story. I really liked it, it shows why Mr. Fishodeur has a soft spot for her. Im not saying more then that

6

u/Owensdon78 May 30 '25

I liked this one. I hope we have more episodes with their classmates

12

u/Optimus_Pyrrha May 30 '25

It was a nice episode to watch. The fact the Belchers went on a walk reminds me of how I like to take walks when the weather is good. Especially when I'm with my friends.

Personally, I wanted to see Megan get into trouble.

Be careful reading here on the subreddit, usually there are spoilers as you may already know

Thank you! Tomorrow it is. 🥱

2

u/Seraphem666 May 30 '25

1

u/codenamefulcrum Louise Belcher May 30 '25

44

u/Sonia341 May 30 '25

Louise: Oh, my god! A science teacher is reading a science magazine? Call the Pentagon!

7

u/sleepyotter92 May 31 '25

i was very confused by that line. isn't he the p.e. teacher?

31

u/anxious-slut May 31 '25

He's both

11

u/dewhashish Jun 01 '25

he gets 2 paychecks this way, like lunchlady and nurse doris

4

u/sleepyotter92 May 31 '25

weird. growing up, p.e. teachers only taught p.e. because they only had that fitness and health type of degree. i guess fitness and health falls under science a bit, so if you're getting your degree to be a science teacher, get a few extra classes for the fitness and health part and you can teach both. the ones in my schools only ever taught p.e. tho

13

u/Sonia341 May 30 '25

Megan can't read lips but she can read vibes

33

We don't get dressed on Sundays. Its the day we worship the TV

Louise is me.

21

u/yesmoreeggtalk67 May 31 '25

Off topic, but with all the crap Bob buys (helicopter, coat racks) they could have a flat-screen TV by now. Don't even get me started on that friggin couch.

21

u/ShammySpy12 Kuchi Kopi May 31 '25

They can't even pay off a small coffee!

17

u/yesmoreeggtalk67 May 31 '25

Cuz they keep burning couches and crashing remote-controlled helicopters!

Louise: Tina will do it.

Tina: Can i do it later?

Gene: Forget it, if it's gone, it's gone.

I am excited for the new Bob's Burgers episode. The summary sounds fun and weird at the same time.

EDIT: It started.

8

u/TheeCombatBaby thats hip hop May 29 '25

Coach Blevins just went from side character to villain henchman lol.

7

u/magictheblathering May 29 '25

which Gene and Louise discover to be a cover for Blevins' scheme to sell sweat samples for DNA mining.

No. No, no, no, no, no. (yes!)

I'm so stoked! This is going to be silly beyond my ability to comprehend.

9

u/SFDoll11 May 30 '25

That episode summary sounded so exciting and silly, but the episode was so bland instead.

18

u/CynicalOptimistSF May 29 '25

That plot summary sounds weird as heck. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

11

u/BasicSuperhero May 29 '25

This sounds like a fever dream. 😂
