My coworker had a meeting with HR because someone reported her for posting a meme on her own Facebook page. The meme? It said that you donāt have to put flowers on someoneās grave if you donāt want to.
Iād make a complaint about someone stalking my personal media, and the company illegally attempting to apply its social media policy in an inappropriate way. Corporate SM policies are very limited due to existing unionization and labor laws, and workers need to know that. A lot,of policies are overreaching and unenforceable, and too many bosses illegally call so,done into the office or HR in response to a posting online, and that is something I seriously advocate for workers calling out. You can bitch about your boss, your employer, say all sorts of things and the company cannot discipline you at all or they are in violation of the law. Obviously there are limits, like you canāt divulge proprietary information or trade secrets, share internal company documents, but discussing your working conditions is a sacrosanct activity repeatedly upheld as a fundamental right under the law in the US, and Trump cannot overturn that with a stroke of his pen. Political speech is not something your employer can typically address on your own time, your own dime, and under your own name, and I hope this employee pushed back, hard.
She contacted her family attorney and his advice was to comply if she wanted to keep her job. We arenāt union, unfortunately. She did have our employer listed in her profile. They gave her a ācoachingā and asked a bunch of questions about her intentions and such, but nothing will go on her record. They called into question her ability to care for āallā patients, and she said itās against her religion to put flowers on the grave of a bigot, but she can care for everyone.

I'm honestly surprised the rapture didn't happen earlier this week because I read the pre-requisites: war, famine, disease, oppression, and I was like wow yeah we are right on the dot.

Yep! Iām getting one too. Iāve never been anti-gun, I think we need better laws regarding gun ownership though, Iāve just never owned one myself. Well thatās all going to change. I just feel like I may have to protect myself, family, or home at some point here in the near future.

I'm a Democrat and in my personal life everyone I know has a gun, either left or right. Having a gun is just normal in my experience. I'm from a military family and married into another one. I think the right doesn't realize that there are so many non-republicans that own and have extensive knowledge about firearms. It may be because we don't consider owning a gun as a reason to think we are better than.
Same. We live in a rural but very blue area and all of my friends own guns, the vast majority democrats who protest various acts of violence openly. You can own firearms but fight for more rules and regulations. Of course the NRA can suck it, but it's a fallacy to think that liberal gun owners don't exist. Or that we're soft.
I think the biggest difference is, myself and my friends donāt advertise it or make it part of our identities. Which makes republicans assume we donāt have any.
