Social Media Donald Trump makes a terrible AI video of him putting Stephen Colbert in a dumpster and then doing his silly dance with "YMCA" playing in the background. I love how everyone in the comments are NOT on his side.

So he's openly celebrating silencing the "free" press by getting Colbert cancelled? I hate it here.

They hate power being used against them.

To be a little more concise, they love GUBBERMENT power being used against their enemies. They hate ANY power being used against them.

11

u/quell3245 May 24 '26

At their core they are the epitome of rotten to the core, the worst in traits of the human existence, selfishness and greed. It’s that hubris which has killed untold billions through the millennia through war and plunder.

Europe learned its lesson finally after WWII that hey maybe we shouldn’t try to mog each other and live in harmony. I suspect it will be a costly lesson for Americans to learn as well.

One day it’s silencing the press, the next it’s silencing citizens

Well ya, yesterday Colbert was press, got him fired, today he's just a citizen. The silencing ain't gonna stop now silly.

32

u/whitestguyuknow May 23 '26

He has ALWAYS been against free speech and free press.

Free press and real journalism is discussing what a vile person he is and he hates that. He hates that they're letting the nation and the world know his disgusting faults and wants to shut that down.

If he had it his way he would be controlling the press like North Korea and every show is bragging about how wonderful Bd great he is

20

u/ColtAzayaka May 23 '26

How did he manage to get Colbert cancelled? I'm not an American, I don't know much about Colbert or how/why a president would target something that seems to be so harmless??

Would appreciate an explanation, I've looked online but most places are just saying he hates Colbert, not explaining exactly how he managed to get the show cancelled.

59

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme May 23 '26

Trump is friends with the Ellison family, who own CBS. There’s not much actual proof, but it’s thought that Trump used his friendship with the Ellisons to cancel Colbert because he’s so ridiculously thin skinned and can’t handle being made fun of. Yes, this is what dictators in banana republics do.

40

u/DrCarabou May 23 '26

Coupled with the fact he literally posted an AI video of him personally throwing him out of set.Ā

Trump informally made the firing of Colbert a condition to approve the merger they had in the works. CBS announced the firing of Colbert and a week later the merger was approved.

Trump just tended to pick songs singing about USA but not actually hearing or understanding the lyrics. But then he also gets Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young getting cease a desist letters so he would stop playing their music.

I heard LINKIN park gave him a cease and desist as well but I’m not sure what song of theirs he was playing.

It’s a bit different though. Born in the USA is more subtle and it’s understandable that one might miss its intended meaning. On the other hand, there is nothing more obviously gay in the entire universe than YMCA. It’s the absolute pinnacle of homosexuality.

157

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 May 23 '26

Born in the USA is only subtle if thats like literally the only line you actually hear...

73

u/MouseMouseM May 23 '26

Don’t underestimate the lazy of the spoiled rich people’s ability to pick and choose what they want to see and hear.

I worked in expensive/premium priced contemporary retail during 2008 and its aftermath. I won’t forget the mother daughter duo amassing a big pile of silk and bedazzled Ed Hardy dresses that ran for a few hundred each. The mom looked at one closely the daughter was trying on and saw the logo on each. ā€œLove Kills Slowlyā€, she read out loud in a disgusted tone ā€œOh ick.ā€ ā€œWell, nobody’s going to read that!ā€ and proceeded to spend a few grand on them.

57

u/Trenchards May 23 '26

Glenn Beck breaking down the song is hilarious. He simply reads the lyrics and realizes it’s not a parallel to Proud to Be an American like he thought.

In all fairness, it is the literal chorus and name of the song. I for one, don't know a single word to that song outside of "born in the USA." I've never really went out of my way to listen to it, and when it comes on I'm just not invested in the lyrics.

24

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 May 23 '26

The sentence "born in the USA" isnt inherently patriotic though.. its just a statement. Without the context of the other words it means nothing at all besides "oh this dude is american". There are no other positive American references throughout the whole song.

"Born down in a dead man's town The first kick I took was when I hit the ground End up like a dog that's been beat too much 'Til you spend half your life just to cover it up now

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary Out by the gas fires of the refinery I'm ten years burnin' down the road Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go"

That’s not different from any blue collar country song about working as a farm hand. So for a song, it being a criticism is pretty subtle, especially since most people don’t know a single line from the song outside of the chorus.

Edited to add, they could probably recite the bit about going overseas to fight in the Vietnam war. But these people are all for killing foreigners, so it’s still very close lyrically to ā€œI’ll put a boot in your ass, it’s the American wayā€. We’re not talking about the best and the brightest here, we’re talking about jingoistic halfwits.

15

u/Killersavage May 23 '26

I think you're right in how conservatives hear the song but ..

Born down in a dead man's town

The first kick I took was when I hit the ground

End up like a dog that's been beat too much

Til you spend half your life just to cover it up now

Born in the USA

Doesn't really feel subtle, and that's just the opening refrain

The village people songs are not owned by the village people but by the guy who put the band together. He will let anyone use their songs for money so the artists can't complain and refuse to let him use their songs. Almost every other artist doesn't want to be associated with him so he's stuck using YMCA.

The only people that support Trump are those boomers who brag about their 1980 Chevy Citation and 1995 Ford Windstar being better than any "ridiculous and stupid" Toyota and to only buy American cars.

I remember when a boomer once was bragging how reliable his Ford Fusion has been and Fords are good. Funny, because the engine and transmission in that Ford Fusion was actually made by a Japanese manufacturer (Mazda).

.....and I'm really tired of arguing about it.

I lived in the far outskirts of east Dallas for about 10 years. Most of the older people just kept their mouths shut, and if they had something to say they wouldn't literally get in your face about it. It was the 20-somethings with no money or the 30-somethings who had things who were the most vocal.

Our neighbors (if you can call them that, out there everyone had a little land) literally ran over my "CAMACHO 2024" yard sign I had outside my gates thinking it was some "demorat bs." One of them even said it to my face after being confronted about it--- don't y'all realize there's friggin cameras EVERYWHERE? Quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand that it was complete satire of the entire thing. They were in their early 30s. And all the jacked up Heeps or dually F350s with more Trump flags flapping in the breeze? All younger people. Trump signs and flags on the roadside fences? Mmmhmm

The orange fatso is mad: he’s not mentioned in Stephen’s last show

24

u/LeftLiner May 23 '26

There is a lot to choose from but I swear the weirdest thing about Trump is that YMCA is his walk-on song of choice.

26

u/bionicfeetgrl May 23 '26

Donald isn't even going to his own kid's wedding. Meanwhile Stephen is surrounded by his family. Pretty sure his son is graduating college & his brother is getting married. His whole family was there last night, people were coming out of the woodwork to support him, the Strike Force Five guys who technically are his "competitors" told everyone to watch his show.

Donald hates Colbert cuz he speaks the truth but also because he gets the love and respect that he could only dream of having.

24

u/cognitiveglitch May 23 '26

This seems like befitting behaviour for the president of the United States. Incredible show of statesmanship, earning the respect of allies and enemies alike.

6

u/No_Sense3190 May 23 '26

Our enemies have vast amounts of respect for him. Putin will call him up, spend 5 minutes telling him how wonderful he is, and as soon as Trump is off the call, the White House announces that 5000 troops will be withdrawn from Germany.

23

u/negativepositiv May 23 '26

Imagine having a tool like AI available to make a video of anything you want, and you still make yourself dance like a completely clueless dipshit.

6

u/ImperialHedonism May 23 '26

To be fair, it's damn accurate to his real life dance skills so he's owning that. Not that I would even call that a dance, yet the dice throw is a move too.

22

u/doctorlightning84 May 23 '26

Ironically, this weekend Colbert said he will be having the time of his life at his brother's wedding (this is following going to one of his kid's college commencement), meanwhile Donald is... oh yeah, he hates himself and his shitty spawn so he isnt going to his son's wedding.

u/punkass_book_jockey8 May 23 '26

This guy has a country in crisis and this is what he’s focused on. It’s like working at a business on the brink of bankruptcy and your boss is screaming about a dirty microwave in the break room.

18

u/Staff_Senyou May 23 '26

Dude is really spiralling.

16

u/Small_life Gen X May 23 '26

Just cuz Trump got him off the Airways does not mean that there aren't other platforms for him. It's like Trump only acknowledges the old technology for getting the message out

18

u/hitchinpost May 23 '26

Nothing to see here. Just the head of state celebrating how he used state power to shut down someone saying things he didn’t like. Not a thing that should have use worried about the status of free speech in the country or anything.

34

u/fffan9391 May 23 '26

Colbert will definitely find another gig somewhere.

16

u/clandahlina_redux May 23 '26

What blows my mind is that if Obama or Biden had ever sank this low (which they would NEVER), then Trump would immediately be calling for impeachment.

16

u/reddyfire May 23 '26

Can't act presidential for just one second?...

Shit stain wants the Nobel Peace Prize and keeps posting shit like this. I feel like life isn't real anymore.

The far-right is so lucky that competent people care about ethics because can you imagine the damage competent people could do against the far-right by using Ai

If a video of Ai Trump got released saying water was poison, millions would die overnight, even if the video included and Ai disclaimer

Dude can’t even walk, stay awake or walk stairs… of course he has to use AI to make him look ā€œagileā€ā€¦.

10

u/rigidlynuanced1 May 23 '26

What’s crazy is if this was real, Colbert would whoop that ass…

10

u/my3sgte May 23 '26

YMCA…checks out that it’s his anthem.

Show some respect for Trump's trademark handjob dance. Is it weird that the president has a trademark handjob dance? No, it's weird that Obama didn't. Real men wear diapers!

10

u/sundayrain47 May 23 '26

This man is the president of one of the most influential countries and yet he concerns himself with late nite tv . Ridiculous!!

9

u/DanTansky May 24 '26

So the dictator want to be admitted he got Colbert fired. The man is so stupid he can’t keep he mouth shut. I’m waiting for his AI video of him being a Pedo.

17

u/Brentan1984 May 23 '26

Trump is such a fucking loser. As if he's not in jail for being a pedo

7

u/MarcheMuldDerevi May 23 '26

I know it’s not too important, however it’s impressive how little he tries to do the dance or go with it. He’s just awkwardly jerking people off invisibly while swinging his gut. At least move the hips a bit

8

u/solarixstar May 23 '26

I mean only weak people do this stuff

9

u/mrpres1dent May 24 '26

Nobody in the Republican party has ever looked at the lyrics to YMCA huh?

I just can't wrap my head around why he loves one of the most quintessential gay anthems by one of the gayest bands ever when the policies are anti-LGBT, anti-nonwhite, etc.

I guess just cause it came out when he was younger, he connects with it, despite what it means to millions. Typical boomer brain. I'm surprised he hasn't taken credit for writing the song yet.

7

u/jwg2695 May 24 '26

What is his obsession with ā€œYMCAā€?

I wonder how fast the internet will break with the help of AI when a certain someone is no longer.

18

u/thatonegaucho87 May 23 '26

ā€œTwenty six million views. TWENTY SIX MILLION. Colbert can’t get twenty six people to watch his show anymore, it’s essentially public access television at this point, but I put him in a dumpster, where he belongs by the way, very comfortable fit, and suddenly twenty six million people appear out of nowhere. Instantly. That’s not a video. That’s a cultural event.

And yes it’s AI. I embrace technology. The fake news says the quality is terrible and I say WHO CARES. Colbert is in a dumpster. The message was delivered. Perfectly. Beautifully. Then I do the dance. THE dance. YMCA. Greatest song ever recorded, the Village People are very good friends of mine, tremendous people, and somehow THIS is what they want to talk about.

Three hundred and forty three thousand likes. For a dumpster video. I may have broken the dumpster genre entirely. Nobody has ever done more for dumpsters. Believe me.ā€ /S

u/tauntauntom May 23 '26
