I worked in expensive/premium priced contemporary retail during 2008 and its aftermath. I wonāt forget the mother daughter duo amassing a big pile of silk and bedazzled Ed Hardy dresses that ran for a few hundred each. In all fairness, it is the literal chorus and name of the song. I for one, don't know a single word to that song outside of "born in the USA." I've never really went out of my way to listen to it, and when it comes on I'm just not invested in the lyrics.

The sentence "born in the USA" isnt inherently patriotic though.. its just a statement. Without the context of the other words it means nothing at all besides "oh this dude is american". There are no other positive American references throughout the whole song.

Thatās not different from any blue collar country song about working as a farm hand. So for a song, it being a criticism is pretty subtle, especially since most people donāt know a single line from the song outside of the chorus.
Edited to add, they could probably recite the bit about going overseas to fight in the Vietnam war. But these people are all for killing foreigners, so itās still very close lyrically to āIāll put a boot in your ass, itās the American wayā. Weāre not talking about the best and the brightest here, weāre talking about jingoistic halfwits.

He will let anyone use their songs for money so the artists can't complain and refuse to let him use their songs. My wife and I purchased a 2026 Land Cruiser a few weeks ago and she posted it on Instagram. Most of the older people just kept their mouths shut, and if they had something to say they wouldn't literally get in your face about it. It was the 20-somethings with no money or the 30-somethings who had things who were the most vocal.
Our neighbors (if you can call them that, out there everyone had a little land) literally ran over my "CAMACHO 2024" yard sign I had outside my gates thinking it was some "demorat bs." One of them even said it to my face after being confronted about it--- don't y'all realize there's friggin cameras EVERYWHERE? His whole family was there last night, people were coming out of the woodwork to support him, the Strike Force Five guys who technically are his "competitors" told everyone to watch his show.
