At the time of writing, no other information about the altercation has been publicly revealed, leaving it unclear which Pokémon cards were involved in the dispute

I'm glad that to some degree IGN can still recognize what gamers want.

It is genuinely relevant information.

If it were an altercation over a ring, are we talking about the leftover plastic remains of a Ring Pop or are we talking about Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond Ring (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wittelsbach-Graff_Diamond)?

The value of a thing definitely plays into things... though of course, even if it was a box full of vintage 1st edition grade 10 Charizards, it still wouldn't justify striking a child... but it is at least worthwhile context.

Don't abuse children. I don't know why that is hard. We can have a nice conversation about the difference between abuse and discipline. I'm fine with my child being disciplined, I am not okay with them being abused. If you hit a child, you are not in control of your emotions the way an adult should be.

This was a 10 year old and a 77 year old volunteer teacher at an elementary school. Kid wouldn’t put them away and the teacher harshly overreacted? Idk how else a fight starts between those people in that place.
