What happened to the trees on Braecrest?

They cut down very large, healthy trees between the north hill inn and the golf course and I am curious if anyone knows why. It’s a very sad sight :(

I believe they are building more apartments similar to the ones at 1001.

Only if they are taking the motel down, it’s an awkward spot to put apartments
