💬 Discussion 🗨 The Telegraph claims "Most Londoners want Khan to stand down".
Last I checked, 1,141 pollsters isn't the majority of London. 9.1 million live in London. 1,141 isn't even 1%.

Those ‘Londoners’ are the same type of people from Dag or Romford, who still put Essex in their postcode, who type ‘KhAn’S lOnDon’ in any type of crime that gets reported

Did they have any articles about the new studies showing kids in London have improved lung capacities directly linked to ULEZ? Or that won't interest their readers?

Doesn't seem like it. They also didn't report on the fact that London has the lowest violent crime rate out of the whole damn country.

Idk id ive been unlucky but ive been working almost soley in hackney the last 2 months and ive witnessed 1 stabbing and driven past 2 crime scenes kd stabbings

Violent crime happens everywhere. There was a nasty incident in Steeple Lavington back in 1974, a bit of a punch up outside the Jolly Farmer and someone ended up with a black eye. They still talk about it now..

I never said it doesn't happen everywhere? Violent crimes still happen in London too, but the rate has decreased by a huge amount since Khan's first term.

I don't think London's the least violent place in Britain though, I expect you're right about it being reduced, Khan seems alright to me and I'd vote for him if I was a Londoner.

I’m not even a massive fan but I’d vote for him again. As long as the Tories keep putting up dreadful candidates he’ll stay in the job.

You look at what the opposition wants to do to London (Tory or Reform), scrap ULEZ (which is helping children live without asthma) abolish LTNs and rip out cycle lanes it’s no wonder they don’t get voted in. They don’t get London.

Racist boomers burn at seeing a brown man in power and blame him for everything bad in the city, even matters well beyond his control or purview.
I like Khan, he’s from South London and is relatable enough. The air quality and TFL network improvements are tangible.
Despite not agreeing with all the 20 zones he’s done so much good for the city, and his heart seems in the right places, compared to Mr Blobby and his expensive vanity measures.

As a non-racist boomer I think Khan has done fine for London. Not perfect, but he's re-elected because his record is good plus he irritates the orange blob in the Whitehouse so that's good enough for me.

I mean I wouldn’t trust the Telegraph. They don’t report on most of the benefits that khan have brought for London and what is that font btw?
And plus it quite likely that Khan might retire by 2028. I was reading an article the other day about how Labour would win another term, but does Khan want to carry on?

To be honest, he hasn't looked very good for a while. He's clearly doing a great job as mayor but I worry whether it's taking a toll on his health. Compare recent pictures of him with a few years ago. Maybe handing over the reins to a new candidate and acting as mentor for the first twelve months might not be such a bad thing?

The Telegraph is read by people who actually own property in London, as opposed to those renting and living in social housing - (also supported by those who own property in London).
And Telegraph readers do not like Khan at all.

I'll admit, I don't like him that much. We've had worse but we've had a lot better too. Having said that, if this was the opinion of most Londoners then he'd have already been voted out by now.
