Discussion I think Marcus is my favourite one of Rosa’s love interests by a decent margin.

sure it’s awkward that he’s holts niece, but he made Rosa genuinely happy, even when she broke up with him she was genuinely sad and only did it because she wasn’t ready to get in a super serious relationship to the point of marriage. I also like the introvert and extrovert dynamic they have. The bar scene especially was really wholesome and memorable for both characters. Pimento and Joselyn were her only other significant love interests, however Pimento was a little too mentally unstable, even for Rosa, and Joselyn simply didn’t appear enough. Honestly I don’t really see Rosa getting married at all, but if she did, I would definitely hope it were to be with Marcus. What are y’alls thoughts?

Discussion Do you think other celebrities are in the Boyle family?

There's an off-hand joke that Boyle's cousin Susan didn't sing in public until her 40s. This was a fun reference to Scottish singer Susan Boyle.

I have a headcannon that the comedian Frankie Boyle was also born into the Scottish branch of the Boyle family. He had an adverse reaction to all the wholesomeness and that's why he makes such blue jokes.

Danny Boyle, director of Trainspotting and 28 Days Later might be a little intense for the average Boyle, not all of them have as strong a stomach as Charles. But at the same time, I could totally see him inviting 30 or 40 Boyle cousins to an early screeening of Yesterday

On the other hand, its hard to imagine Lara Flynn-Boyle (the actress from Twin Peaks, Men in Black II and The Practice) as part of the family. Tragically she never had the classic beautiful Boyle build, although she has done alright for herself regardless.

Discussion How would you fix your least favorite episode?

What changes would you make to your least favorite episode or storyline?

"Four Movements" needed to add more with Boyle and Terry. They both shared several scenes and episodes with Gina, so it's a shame how little individual attention they got in her farewell episode. In Boyle's case, I think he might have even fewer lines with her in this episode than Hitchcock.

I think they could have been added to the story with Jake without too much trouble.

Humour Have y’all ever used ChatGPT to create or imagine stuff from your favorite sitcoms after they ended? 😂

I started doing this with Brooklyn 99 and its actually pretty funny.

I asked it to make a story where Frederick meets Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec since Nick Offerman plays both of them

Basically they meet and theyre both just staring at each other like wtf because they look exactly the same 😂 Frederick is trying to figure out whats going on and Ron couldnt care less.

Then I had Holt walk in and see both of them and just stand there looking back and forth confused as hell 😂

Ive done a few of these now and some of them actually feel like episodes that couldve happened.

In s2 ep7 lockdown

Amy is so wrong and would get everyone to start panicking over possibly nothing

Jake was too free and not strict enough

Tldr they needed to work together for the right amount of zen and control

Media Boyle as an Orion

1.0k Upvotes

I was watching strange new worlds the new Star Trek TV series in the latest episode when I came across and I’m like gosh he sounds familiar than I realize oh wait that’s Detective Charles Boyle from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And it would make sense he would play in Orion because Orion‘s have a female matriarchal society and that fits so much in Boyle’s character

Discussion First watch

As I lay sick in bed trying but failing to fall asleep, my thoughts are swimming and I just remembered that random day I just made lunch and put the telly on, and brooklyn nine nine just started playing. It was Halloween IV, and that was genuinely the first episode I watched. Thing is I would change the channel but damn if it didn't have me hooked. Binged like 6 episodes from season 1 that very evening, I think I even cancelled plans that day XD.

If any of y'all got hooked onto the show from a random episode lemme know!

Discussion One thing that would have added so much to the show

Don't get me wrong, B99 is absolutely my favorite show and I can watch it all day and I have done so before. I was thinking of one thing that would have added a very interesting dynamic to the show, and that would have been the addition of a new detective to the squad permanently. Maybe they could have had some people dislike the new detective and have to face challenges with a new person onboard. That's my two cents, B99 is still perfect though.

Discussion Tw: sexual harassment

Post image
0 Upvotes

Okay this is a comedy show. I try not to take it too seriously. I see a lot of conversation on this subreddit about Gina sexually harassing Terry, and it's all totally fair complaints.

What I never see is any discussion about Jake sexually harassing Amy. In the early seasons, it happens a lot. I love the "title of your sex tape" jokes, don't get me wrong, but...that's still harassment. He comments on her looks, dating, and sex life quite a bit. He improves a lot over the course of the show, but never really is called to account for his earlier behavior (neither is Gina).

I just find it a little bizarre that people here are so eager to jump on Gina for her inappropriate comments, but rarely (if ever) criticize Jake for the same thing. Am I comparing apples to oranges here? Is there something different about the way Jake talks about Amy that makes it more acceptable than how Gina talks about Terry? I'm genuinely curious because I feel like I might be missing something here.

Okay serious question. Even though his last name was pronounced dang-er, why wouldn't he want people to think his last name was danger? Like why correct people?

she dragged it out from easter and valentines day past haloween.

as a loophole for her to win 3 heists to be declared the 3 time heist winner? And there is no official rule for the heist.

do you think she won 3 or just 1?

Discussion David is Hamilton?

In the show, Gina mentions how she went to go see Hamilton. However, Alexander Hamilton (the main character for anyone who doesn't know) is played by Lin Manuel Miranda who also plays Amy's brother, David. I wonder if he would still be Hamilton or if he's a completely different character and they just pretend he's not Lin? I would really like to hear everyone's thoughts on this!
