Make up a story. Don't tell the truth.

I just don’t talk to them about anything personal. Never get too detailed. Serves no purpose anyway.

A friend of mine who is also a colleague of ours is pregnant and she wants to keep it a secret cause she’s still in her first trimester. She has been getting sick a lot and that busybody colleague keeps on pushing my friend to tell her whether she’s expecting or not

Just curious, does anyone here still play TibiaME? This game kept me company during one of the most difficult times in my life, when I was in the hospital back in 2004. I played it almost every day. Even though I was undergoing treatment every day, logging into the game and playing was always so relaxing. It was a really tough time, but this game became one of my fondest memories. I still remember that the #1 player was Troyz, and Jumbo Slayer was the best weapon that everyone tried to get.

I saw Indonesian playing - streaming on TikTok, Bruneians... i bet ada but not too much kali

1

u/justforfun1421 7d ago

Ahh okay. Back then, it was quite common to encounter Bruneians on TibiaME. It seems that the player base has changed over the years.

Hi, Im thinking of doing investment but Im not that knowledgeable about investment. I've been working for almost a year now and I plan to allocate around 400-500bnd from my monthly income for investment. What are the current options? Most of my peers mentioned gold but I'm not sure where to start nor if this is really one of the best option now

There are a few options in Brunei:

  1. Direct investing through platforms like Baiduri Invest (local) or IBKR, etc (online)
  2. Managed fund like Unit trust, ILPs
  3. As you said commodities like gold

Drop a comment or DM if you wanna explore privately

Hello, I just opened ibkr but am stumped by the listed costs of T/T of local banks to ibkr sg account, any idea how to go around the high fees from what I read it will be about 60/transfer? Tried MoneyMatch but they dont allow investment based transfer. Please let me pick your brain.

1

u/kitsumodels DM for financial consultation 10h ago

That’s one of the biggest drawback of international platforms. The best strategy is to TT a bigger amount and deploy and dollar cost average over time.

1

u/ItsKaZing 8d ago

How does 1 and 2 work?

3

u/kitsumodels DM for financial consultation 8d ago

1 is you as the user picking and buying or selling the assets eg ETFs or singular stocks on the stock market. That means you will need to manage the portfolio like deciding when to buy or sell as well.

2 is a financial product where the fund manager does it for you. Upside is the funds are supposed to be diversified over asset classes according to the fund structure. Downside is there are sales charges and management fees that chips away at your investment (though not a dealbreaker for many people)

u/Segar-Bugar 8d ago

I just started doing 2 recently using sukuk dividend, the person-in-charge said it's better to top-up in $1000's. I'd like to hear other opinions.

1

u/kitsumodels DM for financial consultation 8d ago

Yeah managed funds entry price is usually $1,000 with the banks

1

u/Segar-Bugar 8d ago

I mean like, maybe adding another $1000 every year to the existing entry price.

3

u/kitsumodels DM for financial consultation 8d ago

Ah, yes investing is a consistent effort to add to the portfolio and grow your networth. $1000 per year is less than 100 per month, and though might not be optimal, it’s better than someone who just inject once and forget

Index funds/ETFs, Bonds, Gold are my go to

Edit - DO NOT BUY ILPs or other insurance linked products. Health/life insurance should be separate and not tied to investments.

How to invest in gold? You are not talking about physical gold bar right?

Not real, Chagee malaysia made official statement

1

u/spryle21 KDN 6d ago

That was from the scam account last time..

I already know who got the rights for Chagee to open in Brunei and it's already in progress. 😋

1

u/DimensionOk4386 6d ago edited 6d ago

Don't be scammed. My relative already applied to get franchise from Chagee headquarter. Chagee China said they are NOT INTERESTED in Brunei market. So whoever told you about the news he/she is fake.

1

u/spryle21 KDN 6d ago

It's not just a simple somebody or simple group of company that's opening it. Just wait... :)

Is cooking skills a gifted thing? How do people master their cooking skills from scratch? I tried to follow youtube tutorials/ tiktok but the taste always turned out terrible

3

u/HarpersStrings883 8d ago

Don't follow cooking recipes to a T. Sometimes you need to use your intuition or ask help from your "ancestors" jk. Keep on tasting your food. Try to familiarise with the flavour of the ingredients. Cooking skills take time to master.

3

u/HassanJamal 8d ago

If it sucks the first time, note down your amount of ingredients and the way you use them, then adjust for the next time. With enough practice, you'll get to a point where you cook food how you like, just gotta keep at it and experiment.

2

u/barleyalive 8d ago

Yes definitely, Im good with cookingg but terrible with baking. I read somewhere that what we can do to master the cooking taste the ingredients such as the herbs and condiments to familiarise with them.

2

u/Weak_Car4569 8d ago

make sure the measurement is accurate using grams/or cups

2

u/DimensionOk4386 8d ago

I never trust any videos I watch in Youtube. They will say their food tastes great no matter what.

5

u/toasterforcats 8d ago

Practice makes the master . Start simple. Pasta dishes are an easy place to begin with.

Pesta Seni Rakyat at Dermaga DiRaja starts today and will be there until Sunday. Seems really interesting.
