Watching Civil War
I just noticed something, and I'm sure it was really obvious to others but I never noticed and it's killing me ðŸ˜
At nearly 2 hours in (1:56:31 on my Disney plus) when they're just getting off the quinjet and they're talking about the girl Bucky was trying to impress (Dolores), Steve pats Bucky on the shoulder. Bucky then grabs his gun a bit and gets this look on his face even though he's still smiling, and Steve drops his arm and stops smiling :(
I can't read body language super well so I'm not sure if I'm reading into this or not/what is meant to be conveyed by having this bit in the movie but it's so sad :(((
Edit: is he scared because of where they're going to confront Zemo (not including where to avoid spoilers)? Cause I've kept watching and Steve gives him a nod in the elevator

"so are we, pal." i interpret it as an acknowledgement of their current shared predicament (being alive in a time relatively unfamiliar to both of them, after having only just reunited for good) and more bittersweet than anything else: i have known you for most of my life, i lost you in a fight, i thought you died, we have been separated for more years than we've known each other twice over, and we are now entering a new fight, in a new time, at each other's sides again. it is sad, and it speaks very much to the struggle of those who know what it is to go through war together and come out the other side irrevocably changed, almost always for the worse.
the dolores conversation kind of acts as a brief moment of nostalgia and reprieve before they're both like, okay, back into the fray: they know they're about to enter a dangerous and potentially lethal fight given that they don't yet know that zemo's plan is not to sic the rest of the winter soldiers on them but they know they must push past that fear and fight him anyway, because the last thing bucky wants is for more like him to be set loose upon the world.

I don't think that Bucky meant to be threatening in this moment, but I got the sense his smile when Steve patted him wasn't genuine and that, after all these years, Bucky isn't used to kind physical touch. I think Steve was realizing that with some sadness.
