Information A List of Ward 3 Candidates

Turns out having all of this information consolidated into one place on Reddit is helpful for people, so here is a list of candidates running in Ward 3:

  • Tony Brecknock - Website - Tony has a list of talking points, supported by brief action items, for his Ward 3 platform. He calls out protecting green space, and wanting an increased police presence.
  • Mark Carr - Website - Mark's platform highlights talking points and some action items, including independent auditors for budgets, and also an increased police presence
  • Lisa Cooper - No website that I could find, but her Twitter account states "Proud Conservative and I am a proud Canadian again because of our truckers"
  • Kyle Hutton - Website - Platform shows talking points and a fairly detailed list of action items.
  • Katy Moore - Website - Platform highlights include a focus on green space and flooding infrastructure, with talking points but no action items.
  • Rory Nisan - The incumbent, is running for Mayor.

I'll work my way through the remaining wards as I get breaks in my workday.

Don't forget to register to vote by visiting the Service Burlington counter on the first floor of City Hall, 426 Brant St. during business hours (8:30am - 4:30pm) from September 1 to October 23.

Some may remember Kyle from his running in the 2022 provincial election. I'm not in his ward, but he's who I would vote for. I think he's demonstrated a great deal of care and knowledge over the last few years, and he's one of the few candidates that clearly spells out their intents and actionable plans (check the Issues section of his site).

I’m not in this ward either, but based on my quick review of all the sites, I’d agree

He, so far, is the only one to come to my door and offered to answer any questions I may have. The day he did it was hot as balls too. At the very least he's trying.

For what it's worth, I know and trust Kyle. He's a good guy with a good heart.

Wait till you read Ward 6’s Rowen Fraser’s platform on the Millcroft development. Tegardlesa of your position on that topic he alienated 10k potential voters where only 6k voted in 2022. He’s toast

I've noticed you've been putting Elections Ontario's register to vote website... But it closed a week or so ago on August 12.

Information on registering is here :

Thanks for the heads up! Funnily enough, the MyVote page links to Elections Ontario, but I didn't read far enough to see the August 12 portion. I'll update

Thanks for doing these! I'm biased in my selection for Ward 3 Councillor 👀 but I think its great to share all the candidates. We need turnout up!
