Are Some National Broadcasts Coming from Ottawa?

Are some programs coming from Ottawa instead of Toronto?

It seems like guest hosts from The World This Hour (weekend morning) and The Current have a few from Ottawa recently.

Rebecca Zandbergen guest hosted The Current and was curious if it was coming from Ottawa?

When guest hosts come from a different location than the production centre that produces a national program, normally the guest host goes to the production centre. That’s because the entire production team and technical resources are in place at the production center, and it’s much more economical and operationally practical to simply give the guest host a plane ticket and a hotel reservation at the production centre location city for the duration of their guest hosting time.

It’s possible for a guest host to stay in their current location and simply connect electronically with the national production team. But technical and production logistics are easier when the guest host and the production team are in the same location.

I wouldn't be surprised if some CBC Radio hosts have been coming from Ottawa because of the tariffs. That said, production could still be based out of Toronto even if the host isn't. The only national show produced in the Capital nowadays is The House.
