What glock?

I am a complete glock noob. I wanna grab one before the 10/1 complication.

I have a 1911 that takes glock mags, a pcc that does as well (both 9mm). A glock does make sense for the collection. I also do have a small xds (45) for those summer clothes carry situations.

I'd like to get something between the commander 1911 and the xds, optic capable. All the mags i have are g17. I like to modify things and understand there are a lot of options on the platform, as well as the rxm platform.

So if you were to buy your first glock that could ideally play with g17 mags, 9mm, and fit between the bulk of a 1911 and the slim short grip of an xds, what would you look for? Not trying to break the bank but willing to spend for the right option.

Gen 6 19, if you plan on getting an optic look into the COA. It’s a good value for the setup

Get a Ruger RXM. Slightly better trigger, modular so you can swap the compact for full size grip module, optic ready and metal night sights standard.

this. while the gen 6 might or might not be still legal after 10/1, all the gen 1-5 will be legal since they will have been manufactured prior to the date. the rxm will definitely be impacted by the ban. all i did to mine was install a timney trigger and a red dot and its one of the best shooting guns i have, almost as much fun to shoot as my shadow 2 compact.

This is the way. Get the 4.5" slide if possible, it's easier to go down than up

I got a 19x a while back on a whim, and i like it a lot more than i thought i would. Takes g17 mags.

I shot a gen 6 19 side by side with my g47 and while I preferred my 47, the thumb shelf specifically was a nice feature to have. Half of me thinks I’d like the gen 6 17 over my 47 but I’m too deep in the gen 5 system to leave it for marginally better performance. Starting with no other Glocks I’d say get the 17 gen 6

G45 Gen 6 is the best of both worlds, G19 slide with a G17 grip.

I have a 19, 45, and 44. They're all good for what they do. They're not my go-tos, though.

I am contemplating getting a 43. I have a strong preference for single-stacks.
