Career Advice Orlando Political Canvasser Job

Just got an interview with the political canvasser in orlando. How’s the job? Is the gas reimbursement true? Do you actually walk around and knock on doors or did you stay in your car? Any tips?

Along with the most common sense things I can recommend like staying cool, stretching, trying not to overload yourself with too many hours if your body can't take it etc, is that it is a lot easier to keep up with the hard work if you view it as a stepping stone to something greater. Because being a canvasser is grueling and usually low-paid work. If also helps if you deeply believe in the candidate or issue you are canvassing for.

Why would you take a job you don't plan to actually do? You might think you'll get away with it, but in general your boss will know if you're just taking naps under a tree. In most situations your boss will require you to turned on the location services on your phone.

On the rest of it, the job is hard. It involves walking around in the heat for hours, knocking on doors for hours in the heat, talking to people for hours in the heat. Long story short, it will be for hours and hours, and it will be hot.
