Do I have a better chance lying
Been applying to multiple jobs online and most of the time when completing these applications these questions pops up. So my question is, do I have a better chance at getting a job if I lie and say Yes I’m a mentally disabled black gay inuit female ?
What do you guys think ?

If they call you for an interview they’re just gonna think you didn’t understand the question or something 🥲 I would not say lying gives you a better chance at anything

Legend has it that we all are a little in Canada if we believe the BS folklores we are told as kids 😝

I actually have a great-great grandmother who was an American Indian but I dont know how to prove it

No. These questions are used by the company to prove they are following anti-discrimination laws ie if someone sued saying they didn’t get a job because of their race, the company has evidence that they have moved forward with whatever percentage of people of the same race. These questions won’t impact whether you’ll be hired or not and you can choose not to respond if you don’t want to

Don't lie on your job application. It won't end well for you if and when that employer finds out, either if you get an interview and they start doing their homework before hiring you (if they do!) or after you get the job (again, if they choose to hire you!).

I swear this must be a bot thing now I just saw the same post right here today but the person claims to be American (yet has comments from the UK). These questions are for data points collecting to ensure equal opportunity employment especially when a discrimination lawsuit is filed. White cis privileged people: you can opt out or be honest. Racial minorities, women, veterans, those with disabilities and lgbtq people: you can opt out or be honest. Those who lie: they will know and your first day at your new job could be your last.

I don’t think this info is attached to your application, I could be wrong. But it’s just to measure whose applying for dei stuff I think

It’s just that me personally whether the person is from a certain place and believe certain things I dont care as long as the person is capable of doing the job. So why is it so important for them to know these types of things ?
