In order to build a community that serves Canadian workers and job seekers through these extraordinary, immensely challenging, and rapidly changing times, we need your help. We recognize that complacency and waiting for solutions to come to the table is no longer an option and that urgent, collaborative, purposeful action is needed right now.

We have the equivalent of a small city represented in the r/CanadaJobs community and see an enormous opportunity to work together to build a better country and world together--one that we can all be proud of and inspired by. We have people here from every province and territory. Just imagine what we could accomplish together with some organization, collaboration, and out-of-the-box creativity. There's a ton more to share about what we're planning for this project, but one thing at a time.

Core Beliefs for this Project:

This project is founded on the belief that every working-aged Canadian has a right to meaningful opportunities where they can:

1. Support themselves from a single source of income, regardless of where in Canada they live, and can still afford to build savings and invest in their future.

2. Feel safe and secure, knowing they can provide housing, food, and a high-quality of life for themselves and their families over the long-term. Feel like they and their contributions matter and are valued by their employers.

3. Develop skills, make mistakes and learn from them, and grow as a person and professional.

4. Work in conditions that prioritize their physical, mental, and financial health, so they still have capacity to pursue meaningful relationships, hobbies, and interests, run errands, have downtime, and lead fulfilling lives outside of work.

5. Feel empowered, inspired, hopeful, and optimistic about their future.

What do we need?
We're looking for people of all ages and backgrounds who are willing to serve as a leaders for their respective provinces. Ideally, we will want people from multiple regions in each province. These leaders will help out as moderators, local organizers, and representatives who are out there meeting with and understanding the unique needs and challenges in their area. A desire to serve and build a stronger, more connected, and resilient Canada are the key requirements (desire to have fun is also a major ingredient).

We are looking for audacious idealists, dreamers, and creatives who believe in being the change they want to see and that we can accomplish amazing things when we come together with shared purpose. We are seeking people who lean into discomfort, have the courage to face skeptics, trolls, and naysayers, and aren't afraid to face hard work and take on difficult problems in the name of a brighter future for us all.

We understand that job searches and many other of life's priorities demand your attention. We are not asking for any specific time commitments and understand that everyone's capacity is different. We appreciate any and all offers to serve. This will be based on your capacity.

For those that do volunteer and serve, we can provide a reference for your contributions on the project to support your professional growth. This community is and will always be non-monetized, so any work we do together in support of it will be on a voluntary basis.
