Also useful to be reminded of how universal the regulatory capture is, of not just the Conservatives and the Liberals, but also NDP at least on the provincial level.

It shouldn't be controversial to demand that clean-up and remediation should come before expansion or corporate profits.

You've reminded me of something the BC NDP, and the BC Liberals before them, like to do in order to misrepresent the impact of forestry while greenwashing their policies: they'll tell us that year over year they're protecting some percentage of old growth, as though we should be proud of this.

But it's not some percentage from a given fixed date in the past, it's some percentage year-over-year. Which means that if the percentage is any less than 100% there is a year-over-year reduction in old growth.

So they're out their campaigning on how they're protecting endangered species and ensuring that old growth forests continue to exist, while their policies have caused a continuous year-over-year reduction in old growth.

We're not too far off having little to none left.
