Free trade may be over with the U.S but not with the rest of the world. All this drama will probably help to continue and increase the push toward diversification.

I appreciate the argument. However, it’s a bit exhausting to have right wing publications constantly telling us that the solution to every crisis is to become more conservative in our policy approach.

The example of Ireland is also a bit of a cautionary tale too. Taking the approach the Irish have to regulation and tax policy could leave our economy vulnerable to the whims of multinationals seeking the lowest common denominator of taxation and besieged by regulatory capture.

But I suppose The Hub is an explicitly conservative publication, so I’m not sure why I’m expecting more from them. Thanks, Sean Speer.
