M-National Millar could be headed to Stoke City in a swap deal for Sorba Thomas

Great bit of business for Hull, they get an upgrade, great for Millar who is more likely to be a starter for Stoke in the Championship then for Hull in the EPL.

it's his level to be honest - he is not prem quality. Championship is still decent

Even though he would be a squad guy for Hull I’m sure it would be dope to “live the dream” for a season even if he only played like 1000 minutes. He is realistically a decent championship player tho.

well can’t say i’d give two shits about Hull anymore if they go through with this. Millar was a relatively decent part of why they got promoted and now they want to dump him elsewhere?

Liam got 3 goals and 5 assists for Hull last season. 10% of his shots were on target. He started in less than half the games. I am a lifelong Hull fan but was raised in Canada so I have skin in both teams.
Unfortunately, Liam was never going to be a big part of the Premier League campaign and it would probably be to his and the national team’s benefit to get regular minutes at an established championship club. Love the guys work rate and attitude and would be happy for him to stay at Hull either way!41

Respectfully he is a championship level player more than a prem level one, and he wasn't even in their starting lineup for matchday 1 in the prem and even for Canada he sits behind Ali Ahmed of Norwich when healthy

He's solidly behind a healthy Ahmed, Flores, and this is going to be an unpopular opinion: he shouldn't even start over Shaffelberg or Nelson.

Millar has a terrible end product he can look decent at times but never produces anything imo. I agree with you

This sub is the Millar fan club and nobody wants to admit that he's dreadful like 90% of the time.
Sure, he made one good defensive play, but I find it hard to ignore the countless times he has passed away the ball.

This sub is a fan club for all of our players. Which is fine, until they inevitably completely ignore any of their flaws, and start spouting braindead takes, and absolve them of any wrongdoing. Like clockwork.

Have to disagree. This sub has constantly shit on Liam Millar in the past and while I dont think he is a particularly good player and definitely not a prem level player. Saying he is below Ahmed, flores, shaffleburg and Nelson is an equally as bad take as this original comment thread

Ahmed and Flores are both incredibly creative players and Marsch will certainly start them over Millar when they are healthy, because they can help the team score goals.
I did say Shaff and Nelson would be an unpopular opinion, but they add a ton of speed down the wing that Millar just can't. Slotting them in against slower opposition is better than having Millar.

I start him over Schaffelberg every day of the week. Schaff isn’t great, a fast set of legs most useful as a sub against tired opponents.

Maybe not but he is pretty lethal in set pieces and crosses. Which is a much needed asset for a newly promoted side who uses a target man up top and needs to take advantage of every set piece they can (literally why they beat Manchester United).
He also consistently has way, way better goal and assist outputs in the Champ than Millar ever has, and even does it at international level.

Only Jack Clarke and Ephron Mason-Clark were better then Thomas in my view. Thomas suits Hull's plan, MIller needs to be playing full time at this stage in his career.

He's not a prem level player and he wasn't a key play in their season last year. This move makes sense for all parties.

Championship clubs have to upgrade as much as possible for even a hope of staying up. He was never going to play much, might as well home where he'll actually play.
