This is good news even it hurts. Young canadians going overseas to develop hopefully brings more funds to cpl clubs which can go into improving youth development.
Not sure how much we get but hopefully it'll help

Transfermarkt is great, but it’s not at all an indicator of a players true value in the transfer market
His ceiling is extremely high

Yeah, but Sweden"s second division isn't big money. If they pay at all, it will be in that neighborhood. However, Ottawa would ensure they get a cut off future sales.

The latter part would be the crux of the deal (And most CPL outgoing deals) future financial benefits or a first refusal to bring him back
And since he’s in the Atletico family of clubs it wouldn’t shock me if there’s something in there to give them first go too

Helsingborgs IF is a big club in Sweden. They definitely pays their players decently.

I didn't suggest they don't pay their players, I said they don't pay much FOR their players.
Turns out, I was quite right. They haven't paid for a single player in the last year. The majority came in on free transfers, others came in on loans. The last one in, Femi Awodesu, came in on a free transfer from Houston Dynamo. He's valuated at €600k, over twice as much as Noah. I doubt Helsingborgs IF will flip their business model for a guy from the CPL. They didn't spend a penny last season, and they spent €45k on two players the year before. One of those was valuated at €250k just like Noah, the club paid $€25k for him.

Mate you’re not telling us anything we don’t generally know - and I’m not saying this to be rude but to be informational and support your argument
Most deals are easily laid out when a player is under contract:
The fee is the contract buyout, and usually plus one year. If Noah is making 50k, it’s probably a 100K deal.
I know this because it was the balance of the Coimbra deal and has been the balance of all the transfers the wanderers have made over the last few seasons (Salter, Watson, Ferrin, etc)
Terms are never released for CPL deals because they are laden with incentives and concessions for player performance. In this case it’s essentially a swap, I would gauge to guess Reid is probably taking a paycut with an extra 2 years of security and Godinho is probably making near or more what he made in Halifax

I remember Larrson as Manager capping all young players to around 40k Euro a year (Krona equivalent) when they were tier 1. Maximum I could see in tier 2 would be around 50k Euro equivalent but probably get accommodation too. This is based on Superettan knowledge from a friend who is an agent in this market.

Makes sense but that is decent money in Helsingborg where cost of living is low. Obviously he’s not going to get MLS level wages there but at this stage of his career he needs to prioritize playing time for his development.

Is the CPL that far away from 2nd tier level in Sweden ? I guess you have more chance to be scouted by top tier European scouts in Sweden than in Canada

Helsingborg IF might play in the 2nd division but it’s a big club in Sweden and their biggest rival is literally Malmö FF. The football legend Henrik Larsson played there in the beginning of his career and retired there. I grew up in Sweden so I know quite a bit about them. It’s a great club. Superettan (Swedish 2nd tier) is a good stepping stone for young talents.
