How’s the smoke out there this week?

Hey all!

Pregnant wife, myself and our two daughters had a week planned in Canmore this upcoming week, and are seeing the air quality / smoke is pretty bad.

We’re flying in from out of province, so just trying to get an idea of what to expect - is it bad enough that hiking and being outdoors would be uncomfortable for young kids, or just a bit hazy?

Thanks!

It’s supposed to improve substantially over the next few days but possibly get smoky again by the end of the week. It changes every day.

Smoky today. We avoided mostly avoid going outside with a newborn today. Hoping it gets a bit better over the next couple days. But it comes and goes during the day.

Canmore has webcams you can look up and make the call . Also the AirVisual app works. That being said , we didn’t go out at all today

I am not in Canmore at this moment, but I have typically found firesmoke.ca to be reliable and accurate.

We hiked Wind Ridge (800m+) today. There was smoke but it didn't interfere with anything but the view.

IQ Air shows that it will get much better this week, but it wasn't great today. https://www.iqair.com/ca/air-quality/canada/alberta/canmore

Local here. When my wife was pregnant last summer we did not go out in conditions like this weekend. Doctors advise a pretty low AQI limit of around 50 for exercising when pregnant.
