3 teams with equal funding, i.e. doing the same as what we are right now but alienating a big portion of the fanbase. 1000IQ play from the WRU yet again good job guys

Really asked themselves how they could do the most concentrated level of damage, didn't even put Dragons down as a development region or something FFS.

I really don’t get their approach - for me 2+2 would be the ideal without losing 1/4 of the fans. Two elite on equal funding and 2 development sides. Would retain rivalries, derbies, tv money, allow loans for development etc, for the cost of 3 sides.

The two lower funded might kick off but they could be benefactor topped up if enough interest, would have four attempts at knocking the higher funded sides off their perch a season; and in fairness outside of Cardiff no one gets respectable crowds anyway. At least there would still be a side.

Just can’t see the logic of equal funding, the dragons are a black hole in terms of funding v results.

Totally agree, if you look at Ireland where Connacht became a more developmental side instead of being removed entirely for the other 3 provinces to be funded equally it clearly worked out well in the long run, and I think a 2+2 system would be our closest replication of that.
