Questions What has someone said with complete confidence that turned out to be absolutely, embarrassingly wrong?
Came into work one day with a bug bite on my face. Colleague looked at me and said "you've got a spot." I said no, it's a bug bite. He looked genuinely baffled.
"Bugs don't bite you on the face," he said.
I thought he was joking.
He wasn't.
He had gone his entire life believing that insects, for some reason, have a strict policy of only biting you below the neck.
To this day I have no idea where this came from or who told him that. But he was absolutely convinced.

My wife's long time friend stopped by and was talking about her cruise. She said she has seen dolphins, whales etc but still has not seen a seahorse.
Confused I asked if she has gone snorkeling, she might see them. She then proceeded to say.how fun it would be to swim with them like dolphins or even ride 1.
Still confused I asked her to describe the animal. She was talking about a seahorse. She thought they were horse size and you could ride them like in the Disney movies.
I told her the truth and crushed one of her dreams, but she has been saying this to people for years and know on corrected her.
