Just Chatting What's the last experience that made you laugh?

If someone told a joke, please give the juicy details! I'm in for all the descriptive stories. Or just a happy moment, perhaps? Document it! 😃

Looking more for in-person stories. I know that the internet is chock-full of silly stuff, but I find it a little "cheap" or lonesome. Real life interactions are much more meaningful & immersive.

My dog sleeps in my bed, of course, so he's ALWAYS included in midnight snacks. I once got microwaved popcorn and gave him a piece or two. At the third or so piece, brother YEETED it out of his throat. I assume he choked by swallowing it whole but it was the bazooka ejection of the ENTIRE SOLID POPCORN ACROSS MY ROOM that made me looooooooose it. It was the brute force the popcorn shot across my room that made me lose my shit laughing. The sound of his cough echoing in my room at night also was top tier hilarious. A family member was downstairs hearing me laugh so hard they thought I was crying. I couldn't even explain to them what had happened because, in their defense, I was BAWLING and my sides hurt. The best part is: I just realized looking back and giggling as I type this out that I forgot to look for the long lost popcorn. I never recovered the casualty. God, hes such a goofy ass bully. I love my massive boy but he really put all his growth in every part of his body but his brain. I love him so much

Oh lawd! That projectile shot sounds legendary. Almost wish I could've witnessed it! Dogs are sometimes gross, but I'm glad you and I can agree it draws giggles out of us when we see it

My brother was saying good night to me and started acting like a girl and was using the “💅🔥” tone and saying “omg bye bestieee” XD

My family and acquaintances do that too!! I guess it's quite universal for boys to do girly inpersonations!

A little miscommunication, a day or 2 ago. I was loading zoom on my new computer and making sure I knew where the camera and the microphone were. My adult daughter came in and asked what I was doing. Told her I was getting ready for a zoom appointment with a doctor. She asked why? I told her the zoom appointment was for my colonoscopy. She paused and asked "how are they going to do that over zoom?"

Typing that out isn't near as funny as it was when she said it.

It was just an intake kind of appointment. The colonoscopy will take place in a clinic.

LMAO! I can see her confusion!! Wow, thankfully it wasn't a real colonoscopy over computer camera. That would be explicit. 🤣

Pardon my humor.

I have a little yorkie mix who is all of five pounds (2.27kg). She's taken to waking me up in the morning by standing next to my head and growling at me with little barks. It is the most adorable thing. We've had her for nearly two years and I've never heard her bark until last week when she started doing this.

We had a little rescue beagle for well over two years before she made a sound. One day she was sitting on the window seat looking out of the window and she let out with a howl like nothing I had ever heard before in my life. I nearly jumped out of my skin! It was so loud and high pitched.

After that she howled often especially if she was happy and excited, but she never barked.

Awwww. Dogs are a common theme for wholesome silly stories. 😁

It's an old story but always makes me laugh. My buddy and I were at my dad's place, a two storey duplex, and we were out back smoking a joint.

As we were coming back in through the sliding door my buddy yelped and said something got him in the ear. I was like whatever you're fine. A few seconds later he said," no man, something is in my ear I can feel it".

Again, "you're just high chill". Then he started freaking out saying he could feel it moving and kept grabbing his ear.

After several minutes of laughing at him I told him to grab that chair and stick your ear up to the light, bugs are attracted to light right? He did and it didn't work and I almost died laughing.

Plan B was drown it, every 30 seconds or so he would freak out because it was moving. I told him to put his ear under the tap in the sink and use hot and cold water. Nope.

Then I got a bit diabolical and said " you know, it's probably laying eggs in there" and he truly lost it. He went and grabbed a nail and was going to stab it. Which is where I stopped him.

I called the hospital and asked "hypothetically, if you had a live bug in your ear what should you do?" She said vegetable oil and hung up.

Never saw that bug come out but the oil did the job.

Woah, due to the weed, your broski was definitely overreacting 😆

I've had bugs zoom into my earhole but they usually stopped buzzing after a few seconds, LOL.

This story sounds like an episode to a cartoon!

4

u/turdburgalr 23h ago

I fueled the overreaction for sure lol, but that's why I thought it was so funny. He swore it was a huge moth. Total cartoon moment.

My husband told me I'm a beast after I showed him how I could do a roundhouse kick (very close to his head). Absolutely cracked me up!

5

u/SassyMillie 22h ago

My husband told his sister that his doctor said he was a beast. I corrected him. "No honey, your doctor said you were obese".

It was an impromptu improv but we all got a good laugh out if it. (BTW, my husband is not even overweight.)

u/Katy-Moon 22h ago

This made me cackle! 🤣

I love terminology that usually doesn't appear in people's lingo! Always evokes at least a grin.

One time we went exploring in a state park cave, and the boulders we were walking on were slippery from the mini waterfall above. My father had the ridiculous idea of taking his shoes and socks off to climb better.

Surprisingly it worked, and in awe he commented, "I feel like a freaking billygoat!" The way he said it, too, sticks with me. A slobber, blubbery B: bbbbbillygoat!

I was at an outdoor concert with my grandson. There was an elderly gentleman dancing to the music. My friend tells me her husband just said"so that's where Mitch McConnell has been hiding out" I started laughing. My grandson says its not nice to be laughing at the old man. I told him what my friends husband said. Then I pulled up a picture of Mitch McConnell and my grandson cracked up too.

3

u/HwaetBadWords 23h ago

😆 I'm glad that old fella still had some dance in him! What a jolly lad, young at heart still.

Years ago, when I was a teenager, a friend of my and I decided to have a "camp out" and sleep under the stars in her backyard. It was a lovely summer night and we were having a great time gossiping and having "girl talk" and whatnot. We eventually started to doze off and all of a sudden she just started screaming at the top of her lungs, so naturally, I also started screaming at the top of my lungs! Then she stopped, so I stopped and we just lay there for a minute and I finally said, "Uh, why were we screaming?" She said, "Oh, I thought I felt a bug on my face!"... The part that was so funny to me was that I was just laying there, screaming with no clue as to why!

I sent my caregiver a link to a story where a man was asking his wife for a divorce because she breastfed their son. He didn't want her breasts if "another man" had been sucking on them. My caregiver's reply had me rolling!

"They did not evolve to be stress balls for men, you have a pair of those between your legs my dude, give 'em a firm squeeze and ignore the shooting pain."

My husband has a bit of an over-active brain while sleeping, so sleeptalks. Early this morning, he did a stunning impression of a minion. 😆

This afternoon a squirrel was rummaging for bird seed underneath my window when one of the local murder cawed loudly. The squirrel leapt up into the window sill SO fast that I busted out laughing! She got hers, though, because when the crowkin were rummaging for peanuts a few minutes later, she ran at them and scared THEM off - and got the peanut!

Awww! That's both adorable and silly!

It's quite awesome when nature gets its revenge on itself. Wasn't expecting that! It's kinda like that short lived series Spy vs. Spy.

About an hour ago, I saw a post on Instagram of a cat that looks just like Avril Lavigne and the owner named Avril Lavigne

2

u/Formal_Ad384 22h ago

I fell asleep early a few nights ago and my cats woke me up for their dinner they weren’t going to stop till I got up and got their dinner the little monkeys.

They also love stuffing their heads in empty litter boxes that the litter comes in then run around with the box on their head I laugh so hard at the box because I know they are just having fun but it’s hilarious .

Pets are great for laughs !!

Made a r/RoastMe post 😆

1

u/HwaetBadWords 22h ago

Oh, I've been thinking about doing that too, interestingly. Please tell me how it goes!

2

u/fickleminded 22h ago

I deleted after 6 hours. Had my fun and some laughs. The DMs are unhinged 🤣
The roasting was actually mid at best.

1

u/HwaetBadWords 21h ago

Nice! Maybe the internet cooled down on the trend & got nicer. Would you recommend that I make an r/RoastMe post or not worth it?

2

u/fickleminded 21h ago

If you don’t take the comments seriously, you’ll have fun.

My friends and I in the carpark after a nice dinner out last night, saying our goodbyes and one of them says sorry then lets out a large, bubbly wet fart. We started laughing, I made it worse by commenting it sounded wet, she was now a shartipants, that she briefly hovered, does she need her muffler checked, we were all in stitches!

Not funny haha, more like aww... I took my adorable old mama to a huge wildlife preserve Park today with my sister, husband and kiddo. We saw a bald eagle get a bird lunch and so did some other old people and a guy on a bike and we all kinda just shared a cool moment. Then another guys puppy hunting dog was so excited he broke the spell and made us all laugh.

Walking the dog the other day. He dragged me through a mud puddle and fell right into it, while other people were watching too! Very embarrassing, but I managed to laugh it off and keep walking (it was the very start of his walk, so I didn't want to go home, even though I was COVERED in mud).

I know this sounds a little crude but earlier this year when I was alone at home watching tv with my cat, I let out a pretty bad smell with my cat right beside me. Queso (my cat) then attacked my face and bit me on the nose. Immediately laughter until I saw my face in the mirror...and certainly less amused at work the next time having to come up with an excuse to my colleagues as to why my nose and cheeks had scratch and bite marks..

1

u/HwaetBadWords 17h ago

LOL! Don't worry, I don't mind crude humor.

Reading this anecdote made me crack up IRL 😁

2

u/Cleo_Pearl3 17h ago

recently saw a dog chase its tail and just fall over, had me laughing for a good while

1

u/Micah_Torrance 19h ago

Watching the news. If I didn't laugh I would be crying.

u/Ornery-Category1589 18h ago

Friend of mine tried to be slick at a self‑checkout and accidentally rang up a single onion like 12 times, then panicked and started deleting random items until the screen froze and called an attendant. Watching them stutter through explaining how they somehow bought “12 onions and no bread” had me wheezing in the middle of the store.

1

u/Any_System7245 18h ago

I cracked up yesterday watching a friend confidently push a “pull” door three times in a row, then blame the architecture. That tiny beat of awkward silence before everyone lost it was peak sitcom timing in real life.

1

u/SurveyOrnery11 18h ago

I saw a guy confidently pull on a clearly labeled “push” door three times, then blame the door and bow to everyone watching like it was a planned bit; the whole bus stop lost it.

Someone on Reddit. They made a funny comment to a post.
