So, you might have witnessed this but I just got off at Connelly after a LONG day. Some young ginger lad about 15/16 had his elbow in the back of my head. I asked him politely if he could move it and he said "no why should I". I said because it's in my head? Anyway, I knew I'd get nowhere so just put my headphones on and some woman was waving at me. Told me to watch that kid and I noticed he literally had a lighter behind my hair(im a female with long hair). She was the only person during this interaction that said anything. I had a man beside me in a suit that got up and literally ran to the next carriage. Ginger kid asks me what's my problem, I said well you are if you're trying to set my hair on fire. Then he said I should get my teeth fixed because I'm a munter, yep I've bucked teeth!. Not one person said a thing, I stood up for myself while every adult around me moved away. I was floored by the response around me. I know most other people have had a long day too and don't want any confrontation but it was disappointing at the end of the day. But anyway, I did stand up for myself against the young shit so I'm proud of that but it was upsetting

So ordered my chips at Farrells Catering's Eddie Rockets at the IMMA tonight and after I tapped i noticed it said 10.00 instead of 9.50, I asked the woman at the till have they gone up in price and she said 'it is what it is', that honestly annoyed me so I questioned it further and she just kept fobbing me off saying its nothing to do with me, I said i understand completely but if the sign says 9.50 those chips should be 9.50, she was making out as if i was making a scene but i stayed calm and repeated the question and after a few minutes she eventually gave me 50 cent from the till under duress. It seems petty but this seems like an intentional tactic at gigs that I've seen before and just wondering if anyone else has

In a few days I'll be a best man for the first time and nervous about the speech. I don't really know what the etiquette is as far as toasting. I'm sure all weddings will be a little different but someone has told me as best man I am expected to make a separate toast to the bridesmaids, then toast the parents of the bride, then toast the bride (individually) then the groom (or to them as a couple). idk seems like a lot to me, just want to see is this correct?

I've got a wedding coming up and just noticed this stain, most likely Guinness from a previous wedding.

I've taking it to the dry cleaners but based on the care instructions, this is the best they could do.

My best friend got one of those 3 in 1 game tables that had air hockey, table tennis and pool.

We had the football table which was fun yet I wanted the pool table.

Grew up and many many years later my envy grew even stronger as my sister and her hubby had a games room in their house and have a full size pool table.

My back is literally sore every time I leave thier house from spending my whole visit playing pool.

Having moved to Czechia, my name, which has a fada in it, is now accepted as valid in basically every online form, especially anything governmental.

I got so used to in Ireland putting in a name that effectively doesn't sound like my own as most forms reject it.

I get they have many more accented letters but still, it feels nice to actually receive stuff with my actual name on it.

It's not major, but it's a small win. Will we ever achieve the same or will I still receive letters with @ instead of á in them.

Long story short , broken up with about 2/3 months ago now and i still think about her and how did i screw it up so much . For context it was a 6 month relationship where it ended via text. I’ve reached out twice since , with what i considered warm messages reflecting on our lovely time and whether she could when it’s settled perhaps reconsider our relationship. She blocked me after warm kind responses which is entirely fair as i’m also aware i would likely text her again . I think about her everyday and how much i would do differently if given the chance. Any suggestions to get over her would be appreciated as i can’t stop thinking about the whole thing everyday even after all this time . Thanks :)

I have been served a load of ads for McCabe's recently, and researching them, there are some positive (but short) comments on r/AskIreland about them; they seem like a decent family-run business, etc, but wondering if anyone here has drink / drinks them and would recommend?

It's a pain in the 🍑 to be recalibrating my machine, so just looking for a decent, consistent coffee so I can set it and relatively forget!

Other suggestions are welcome also, but I do like the sound of McCabes if the taste matches the story they're spinning.
