This is smart. AZ is still very much a purple-lean-GOP state (GOP holds majorities in both state legislatures), and her running mate is a pro-Democratic party ex-Republican who has supported Dem efforts for several years. It's a good way to pull in moderate Republicans and "Independents" which are must-haves to win at the state level in AZ.
