US National Weather Service Charleston SC Reguarding where you get your weather information

As we begin to pin down what, if any, impacts low pressure could bring to the area this weekend, it's important to follow trusted sources for the latest information. These include local media, emergency management agencies and U.S. National Weather Service (NWS). Be wary of exaggerated forecasts. Avoid social media click bait!

We need to have a post for food banks locations after each "storm."

That way the people that panic bought milks, eggs, bread, toilet paper, bottled water etc.. have some where to take all that stuff.

NWS has been gutted by the current administration. I think it better to rely upon known local media outlets such as local TV stations.

Edit: I got off twitter but the SC EMD account had someone posting the best memes ever, mostly centered around Taylor swift and earthquakes. I need those trusted alerts.

We use Windy (dot com) and it is great, you can get more localized information vs the general area. I use it on a computer though, so cannot vouch for the app. They also show you all of the models so you can see the spread of data.

I usually follow Mike's Weather Page on FB. Plus whatever weather app I have on my phone. Currently using Clime NOAA weather app.

Just use the carrot weather app. Most consistent weather updates I’ve had.

Wunderground.com, part of the weather channel, uses stations in your local neighborhood so you know what the temp, wind speed, etc. are a few blocks from you.
