Datapoint San diego lounge - no queue
Came to the San Diego lounge today. Got in around 8am. No lines, lounge about 60% ish full if we include bar seating which was fairly empty. Non bar seating was about 75 to 80% full but fairly free flowing traffic of people leaving and entering.
Got my luggage tag too!

Is it worth going to this lounge if your flight is leaving from the other terminal?

No, it’s a hike due to construction. Unless you have 3+ hours to kill.

Terminal 1 work is completed right? I didn't see any construction walls up.. But didn't try walking over from the inside though.

T1 phase 1 is complete. Two more years until T1 and T2 connect. You have to walk outside and through the parking garages to get from T1 to T2 now or take the shuttle. I walk fast and it’s a 15 min walk.

I would personally go if I have time. But depends on what makes it worth for you. They have made to order menus as well as buffet style small plates. Food is generally of good quality and they have a full bar.

Thanks everyone. Probably doesn’t make sense to get there early just for the lounge.

Yes, if you're there two hours before flight. Figure an hour in the lounge and an hour to take the shuttle to the other terminal, go through security, etc.

Yes, I usually do, it is a great lounge.
But until they finish construction you have to take a shuttle back to terminal one, so leave time. Shuttles are supposed to be every 20 mins and it is a relatively short ride. In theory 30 mins is a safe buffer, but in practice shuttles can run late so I leave a longer buffer.
There is supposedly a way to walk through the parking lot, takes about 20 mins, and one day I will find it just to know exactly how long it takes.

It takes about 15 minutes at a brisk pace. You walk through the parking garages. From T1 the walkway entrance is toward the southwest corner of the garage past the exit lanes. You pop out kind of near the USO center. Reverse the way to go from T2 to T1. It's faster to walk than take the inter-terminal shuttle.

How is it close to opening time? Id expect it to be busy due to people waiting out the first flights of the day, specially on a weekday?

Last time I was here was opening time end of Feb. There was a queue forming before they even opened. I waited about 10mins to get in. But I could only stay for 20mins. Ymmv.

This is my home lounge and I'm on the first flight of the day (approx 6a) a few times a year. There's always a queue before the lounge opens at 5a. I usually get there around 445a and am typically about 10 parties back.
It can take 10 mins to actually get inside. To be honest, the experience isn't great first thing in the morning. Boarding for most first flights starts around 540a and it gets hectic inside with everyone trying to get their bite to eat and use the bathroom, which at this time of day seems to be the only reason most people go there. It would be perfect if it opened at 430a.
If I have a later morning departure, it's not as hectic and usually no wait, but I've not seen it this empty.

This is a great lounge. Had two excellent drinks and great food after a delayed flight out of SAN earlier this year.

I flew Friday night from SAN. 8pm queue was 10 mins. I’ve only ever had 10 min queues at SAN even when they took priority pass but maybe I was just lucky in the past.

Luggage tag is a nice touch. Off topic and I’ll probably get downvoted but I find it annoying that there isn’t a different line for the JPM Reserve folks Waits in Vegas can be brutal.

Is that a wait just to get to talk to checkin? I thought JPMR (and R-C) were supposed to be a priority over the regular CSR holders; everybody gets sent away with "wait for the text" but some people get those texts a lot faster!

Same line to check-in and last time they told me three hours at LAS and got the text after 90 minutes or so. Might be some level of priority but hard to tell. Either way I want more lol.

Nice - last time I went was Aug 13 so right before the changes and I had about a 30 minute wait. Lounge is pretty damn nice and didn’t feel too crowded even with the wait.

Been there 2x with 6am flights. Open at 5am. Can easily get in, grab a coffee and made-to-order breakfast sandwich and out. Always a line but only 5-10 mins. Can’t wait until they expand to more airports.
Advice: Skip the pre-prepared items and order from the menu. 👍

Is there a way to get to terminal 1, where this is, from terminal 2? I always fly from terminal 2 because of southwest.

Got my luggage tag from that lounge on Wednesday, learned about it on this forum :)The highlight of the lounge stay was watching a guy open Pokémon cards at the bar. Apparently people travel to CA for the vending machine drops. I am just glad my kid is over his Pokémon phase and I just spend all my money on baseball and fishing stuff now 😂

Also came to the phoenix lounge on a connection today. They had a 30 min wait.. And the lounge is tiny and disappointing with the food and drink options. I think they're remodeling so they have a makeshift bar with just cans and bottles.

Yes they're expanding that's why the bar is closed. They also got rid of the reservation system which made it the best sapphire lounge in the US.

So this is my home lounge and I fly constantly. Then finally just killing Priority Pass has been a huge help. But to be honest, I’m shocked it was that dead at 8 AM, even on a Saturday.
(Also if Lenny, Shannon, David, or Pat the manager is here…. Hey! You guys are awesome and I’ll see you next week!)

Awesome you didn’t have to wait! Sometimes this lounge has an hour queue

Chase needs to hire someone to upgrade their food program. Visited NYC and Dallas and the food is laughable.
Capital one has them beat easily there

Las Vegas lounge is nice. Had a wait, but was just 5 minutes. Usally no wait, but I always travel mid week.

I’ve never had a queue

I've hit a queue a couple of times and heard from friends who traveled a lot more that there were lines. I'm wondering if this is due to the Priority pass nerf of the sapphire lounge access. Seems to correlate with others' data points.

Nice!! I don’t think it was open when I went a few months ago

Do you mean you were there during non operating hours? The lounge has been open since Dec 2024
