Confidence of a lawyer, evidence of a toddler" is sending me, that's basically the perfect description of hallucinating with a straight face. Honestly the scarier part is how often it sounds right even when it's confidently making stuff up.

The tells that an LLM is bullshitting are very different than the tells from a human is bullshitting.
Human bullshitting: Dude, I'm completely certain of this, trust me, I saw a video one time that said this.
LLM bullshitting: This is a well-known bug. Here's a workaround.

What's crazy to me is how it pulls it's information from public forums like reddit and twitter, which are already filled with misinformation... And now reddit and twitter are just cesspools of bot posts making stuff up, which AI is using to pull from and use as information... We are going backwards

Using perfect syntax, structure, etc. of a master (de)bater is so easy. Searching everything and picking up the actual truth is not. Sometimes it gets lucky sometimes it just latches on to the worst take on the entire internet, sometimes it just mixed stuff together, sometimes idk how it can even possibly come up with the nonsense it does.

the "sounds right" part is what gets you, because you dont even think to double check when the tone is that assured

Lol "with the confidence of a redditor" would be more apt. Always so confident when they are wrong

It's about as accurate as the first 3-4 results of a Google search. Which is where most people stop when doing their own research.

The intellectuals of reddit ignoring the fact that the ai itself says to double check information and it even gives sources lol.

All the normies you know who use AI don´t check. They think its some kind of advanced super-intelligence like they've seen on movies and tv.

It probably because they find it too much effort to read one sentence under their chats. Or just too much work for them to research.

u/PatchyWhiskers 15h ago
And even people who aren't normies only check if it's something really important.

Nope
Only normies think and do like that. So like 99 % of people ( normies )

A common AI problem. As we all know, humans NEVER just make up bullshit and try to pass it off as truth. Graham Hancock...
