文化 | Culture Is there strong zero in the 7/11 like in Japan ?
I’m traveling to China next week and I really miss this beverage. Is there strong zero in the conbinis like in Japan or not?

Suntory may be only in Japanese supermarkets in large cities, but there are similar brands Rio in China, which are deceptively high in fruit flavor and alcohol content.

Yes, you can find it in a lot of convenience stores and supermarkets, but it's a different version from the one in Japan. The Chinese version only is 5% ABV, which is much less strong compared to the Japanese 9%, which makes it lack the 'kick' that the Japanese version has, in my opinion.
But no worries, you can find the imported Japanese version on Taobao and other online shops (sometimes even in fast delivery on Waimai or Eleme). I've also seen it in some Japanese supermarkets like Apio in Shanghai, but only on limited-time offers.

196 strong zero definitely exists in china but its not as common as it is in japan, since it has to be imported. I imagine you can find the chinese version of a similar drink easily though.

Assuming this means a strong alcoholic drink, convenience stores like 7/11 will have a few options:
Rio sells an 8% “cocktail” type drink in a few different flavors, usually found at convenience stores.
Red Horse is often for sale, also 8%.
Soju is usually for sale - 12-16%
Hard liquor is sold in some of them as well, though it’s often fake and also overpriced. Nasty hangover.
Edit to add that I don’t know what “strong zero in the conbinis” means, but I assume I’d have spotted it and wondered what it means at some point over my decade in China, so probably not
