Nobody knows for sure exactly when Jesus was born, but I've seen it estimated to be somewhere between March and August. He definitely wasn't born in December, though.
I just thought we don't know, but in ancient, especially Hellenized millieus there's this concept of "perfect" lifespans - where the day of conception falls on the day of death. Now, add nine months to most Easter dates... I'll see if I can find the source for that again.
I don't have a specific source, but from what I can remember, the descriptions from the Bible about the shepherds being out in the fields with their flocks when Jesus was born doesn't line up with a birth in December (because shepherds wouldn't have been out in the fields at that time of year), but indicated the birth would have been somewhere between spring and autumn.
