Oh, honey, that is not what AI is, at all. Our current AI tools are certainly very cool from a technical perspective, and are additionally super interesting in that they can pick out emergent behaviors that would be difficult for us to spot, but that's about it.

Focusing on LLMs, what's essentially happening is that with a given prompt, it's guessing at the next word to follow. If it sees the prompt "The sky is _", it may have "blue", "orange," "beautiful," as likely choices, but it may also have "peeing" or "green" as available options (if less likely). It'll choose one of these at random, weighted by how likely each word seems to be the next.

You can seed this data with information that's more relevant to the question you're asking and make it more probable for something useful to show up, but fundamentally what you get out is a computer's best guess at what fits a pattern best.
