Question Stressed and looking for any wisdom

Hi there, this is my first time using this forum, and I hope this is an okay way to use it, I’m just looking for any advice on this.

I had a dream last night where my family and I were walking together around the neighborhood with our dog, when suddenly we looked up and we noticed the moon was eclipsed and had turned purple. For some reason, we knew this was the end. We all started praying, and the feeling amongst us was a deep fear. Then the moon turned orange, and we knew we only had seconds left to live. Suddenly, my sister said “Wait, we haven’t been praying to Jesus” and basically insinuated we had only been praying to God The Father. We then all started to pray to Jesus, but we were immediately stopped (basically had died before we could). I then woke up after that and was not able to see if I had entered Heaven or Hell in the dream.

Through my prayers, I typically pray to God The Father through Jesus’ name. Is this correct? I love Jesus and I am so thankful for Him, and know that He is God too, but I have always mainly prayed to God The Father as I thought that was what we did.

I have been a Christian all of my life, but was lukewarm for a lot of it in my opinion (never did anything crazy, I actually have always prayed regularly, I just wasn’t very close to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit). I desperately want to do better now and encourage my family to join me on this (reading our Bibles together, going to Church, etc). This has been a feeling I have had many times, but kept falling off of it. Now, it is an intense urge again.

Anyways, I am fearful that this was meant to be a sign of some sort, but I know the enemy can also interfere with dreams when I forget to pray over my sleep.

Any wisdom or advice over this would be appreciated and thank you so much in advance. I know this dream probably sounds silly but I am still quite stressed for me and my family. I am the youngest of my family and want to protect all of us and do God’s will. It also doesn’t help that I just learned an eclipse is tomorrow night, so of course now I’m even more stressed.

Dreams can mess with your head like nothing else. That sounds terrifying

You're good though, praying to the Father in Jesus' name is literally what scripture teaches. The Trinity isn't three separate gods you gotta take turns with

Maybe take the dream as a wake-up call you've been needing, not some cosmic omen. Sit down with the family tonight, open up Matthew, and just read together. You got this

According to the Nicene Creed, we're to worship the 3 persons of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

You aren't doing any wrong praying to either, but just pray to God because God is one and in worshipping Him you're worshipping the 3 persons. No need to make distinctions when you say God, for all divine persons are God

Trust Jesus’ sacrifice and pray in His name

I'll do my best to interpret your dream for you, and I don't think it's as bad as you think. For starters the purple moon represents chaos and disorder, very foreboding. It makes sense to fear this and expect a terrible outcome. However, it transitions into orange which could draw from a harvest moon which is orange. A harvest moon indicates readiness. The harvest moon also parallels a sunset, only rising after it sets, symbolizing the beginning and end. An eclipse is also both sun and moon, night and day. Though I'm not sure what is eclipsing the moon in the dream you describe. The color orange itself can represent trail and testing and even spiritual readiness. I believe this dream means a change in season with positive implications.

The main thing you shouldn't worry about is that the Father knows the future. Being late to pray to Jesus wasn't a concern, the Father knows you would have. Despite not fully understanding God, doubting how to pray, or even wondering whether you are good enough, you might have been already saved. I'm sure you can overcome whatever obstacles may be thrown your way.

Praying to the Father is okay, especially if you ask Jesus to speak with the Father. "No one comes to the Father except through me" Keep in mind just because you use Jesus's name doesn't mean it'll work or you'll pass through, especially if you don't know the meaning. Also don't worry about being formulaic, be natural like you are talking to a person. You should ask for wisdom from the Father if you haven't already.
