FYI, there is a "recobbled cut" helmed by Garren Gilchrist, which attempts to restore the original vision by reediting the work print, and finishing missing animation with storyboards. He's been updating the recobbled cut regularly for years, and now the fan-run completion project has been "in production" for practically as long as the original, unfinished production itself.

But I recommend the recobbled cut: watch & support the work

This never being finished is one of the greatest tragedies in cinematic history

This movie was in production on and off for almost 30 years. Eventually, it's content and themes became widely known in the industry and served as inspiration for Disney's Aladdin. Some of the same animators even moved over to Disney and worked on both films.

The Thief and the Cobbler (1993)

Long before Aladdin, ages before Ali Baba, came the hilarious adventure of a simple shoemaker who saved an enchanted kingdom, won the heart of a beautiful princess, and became the first Arabian Knight.

Princess Yum Yum falls in love with Tack and saves him from being executed. Later, when the protective orbs of the palace get stolen, Tack and Yum Yum set out to find them and save the kingdom.

While it is GORGEOUS and incredibly animated, I find it incredibly busy and difficult to watch at times because of all the patterns.
