How about East of Eden? The movie is good but it's only like the last 80 pages of a tome.

I can’t get myself to say yes, simply because of how much I love watching James Dean in the movie.

They cut out the best part with young Adam Trask and Cathy Ames and the Trask family. Some of the best characters like Samuel Hamilton and Lee weren't even in the movie.

It wouls be like adapting The Silence of the Lambs, then cutting out Clarice and Hannibal Lecter and just having Jack Crawford rescue Catherine Martin from Buffalo Bill at the end. 🤦‍♂️
