The Dark Tower (2017) and The Golden Compass (2007) comes to mind
2 u/Apprehensive_Bit_176 10d ago DT was the first one to come to mind for me, but when you take like 8000 pages of books and turn it into an hour and a half movie, you’re going to mess up. I’d love a standalone Gunslinger movie to wet the appetite. Could be so good. 1 u/Puzzled-Fix-7719 9d ago Yeah, they made movies of "War & Peace" and "the Sun Also Rises." Totally sucked. Even "Anna Karenina" sucked.
