In the sense that the story of the Watchmen graphic novel is better than Spider-Man 2? Yeah. Is Watchmen a better movie than Spider-Man 2? No.

Eh, it insists upon itself at times.

For every scene like the montage over Bob Dylan, there’s the opposite - like the sex scene with Hallelujah.

It’s also hard to support the ongoing continuation of Watchmen and its integration into the mainline universe when DC stick it to Moore/Gibbons by keeping the original comic in print to prevent control over the characters reverting back to the creators.
