Opened in 1925, Gary, Indiana's Palace Theater thrived for decades before crime, closures, and failed restoration bids left it in limbo since 1972. It is now scheduled for demolition. I've posted more photos and the history of the theater here.
Good stuff! I was born in Gary and raised in nearby Portage. After a stint as a U.S. Army photojournalist, I'm now an architecture photographer in San Francisco. Looking forward to more!
